7Artisans has just introduced a new, affordable PL mount adapter that allows you to use cinema glass on your mirrorless camera. It features a 4-in-1 design with an interchangeable mount on the camera side, ensuring compatibility with Sony E, Leica L, Canon RF, and Nikon Z mount systems.

The use of PL-mount glass is steadily gaining popularity, especially with the growing availability of budget-friendly cinema lens sets. And while PL mount adapters are already available for pretty much every mirrorless camera brand, having one that allows you to move between different systems is definitely convenient.

Of course, such adapters already exist, as we have seen, for example, with products like the Dulens Magidapt PL or the MOFAGE POCO Adapter, which even includes a built-in VND filter. Now, 7Artisans joins the list. Let’s take a look!

7Artisans Thor PL Mount Adapter Kit – overview

The 7Artisans Thor PL mount kit is a simple, fully manual, mechanical PL adapter designed to mount PL cinema glass onto modern mirrorless cameras. On the camera side, the mount is user-interchangeable, and the kit offers 4 options: Sony E, Leica L, Canon RF, and Nikon Z.

The adapter features a lightweight aluminum construction and weighs between 150g (5.29 oz) and 162g (5.71oz), depending on the mirrorless mount. The kit doesn’t include any shim, but, according to 7Artisans, the adapter offers accurate flange distance as well as minimal play.

The PL locking ring features grip tabs with an anti-slip design, and comes in two different finishes: a classic silver look and a purple variant to match the company’s Floral Bloom cinema lenses.

Price and availability

The new 7Artisans Thor PL Mount Adapter Kit is now available for pre-order at B&H for $179 (Silver / Purple). The kit includes the lens adapter, four interchangeable mounts (E/L/RF/Z), screws, and a hex key.
