Insta360 unveiled the latest addition to their Ace action cam series, the Insta360 Ace Pro 2. This wide-angle action camera features 8K, Dual AI chips, a new Leica SUMMARIT lens, and Active HDR. Let’s take a look at their upgraded flagship camera!

Insta360 is known for their action and VR cameras, having released the X4 earlier this year featuring 8K capture in 360°. The Ace Pro 2 improves upon their first camera and continues working with Leica, their co-engineer, who also provides color profiles. Highlights include a new 1/1.3” 8K sensor, smarter AI, Active HDR, and a slightly larger 2.5” flip touchscreen.

The Insta360 Ace Pro 2 is the newest version of their flagship wide-angle action camera, although the first one came out just a year ago. While improvements are built upon the first-generation Ace Pro, the features of the Ace Pro 2 are very similar.

How do the Dual AI chips help with capture and, as Insta360 says, “smarter AI?” The first is a dedicated Pro Imaging Chip that uses AI to help reduce noise and image processing. The second is a 5nm AI Chip which helps with overall camera performance and further image processing.

The Insta360 Ace Pro 2 improves upon the features of the first version, and the Dual AI chips will help with overall capture while the new and improved 1.1/3″ 8K sensor and Leica SUMMARIT f/2.6 lens with 157° field of view, plus Active HDR, will ensure crystal clear action shots.

Price and availability 

The Insta360 Ace Pro 2 comes in multiple bundles, but here are two good options:

• The Standard Bundle includes the Ace Pro 2, Wind Guard, single battery, standard mount, mic cap, and a USB-C cable. It retails for $399.99.
• The Dual Battery Bundle has the same features as the Standard but comes with two batteries and costs $419.99. This might be the best option for action camera users.
