September 25th, 2025Jump to Comment Section

At IBC 2025, we had a chance to talk to Ivy Lin from CAME-TV as the company showcased its Waero Pro wireless intercom headset system, targeting production teams requiring flexible communication solutions. Let’s take a closer look.

Established in 2012, CAME-TV has been known for their expertise in designing and manufacturing full-duplex wireless Intercom and Batteries. The China-based company has previously specialized in LED lighting before shifting focus to wireless communication systems.

Group-Based communication system

Speaking with CineD at the Amsterdam exhibition, CAME-TV’s Ivy Lin outlined the Waero Pro system’s core functionality. The setup allows one master headset to connect with up to eight remote units, with users able to divide into two separate communication groups.

According to Ivy operators can switch between Group A and Group B by pressing designated buttons on their units. The master operator can communicate with all participants simultaneously by holding the center button.

Technical specifications

The system operates within a 1,700-foot range (approximately 500 meters) using dual antennas and receivers built into the master headset. According to Ivy, the company has implemented AEC (Acoustic Echo Cancellation) technology and specialized microphone processing to maintain audio clarity in noisy environments.

Advanced features and performance

The Waero Pro operates on the 1.9GHz DECT band, avoiding the congested 2.4GHz frequency range used by numerous wireless devices on set. According to the company, the system features zero-latency communication with noise cancellation capabilities. Enhanced from the previous model, the Waero Pro supports up to 16 users for simultaneous communication without requiring a hub, compared to the earlier version. The system also includes full duplex operation, allowing all users to talk and listen simultaneously without interference.

Power and battery life

Power management differs between units. Remote headsets provide up to 50 hours of operation, while master units deliver 5-8 hours depending on the number of connected remotes. The system uses replaceable batteries or USB-C charging.

Pricing and availability

CAME-TV offers various configurations from a two-person kit starting at $222 to a 16-person setup for $1,998. If you are looking for something “in between”, the five-person kit (one master, four remotes) retails for $555. The company also manufactures an analog portable intercom unit that extends capacity to 16 participants when combined with the wireless system.

Note: There are two versions of the WAERO Pro, one for the US and one for the EU, with the main difference between the versions being the frequencies. It’s to ensure that the headsets do not interfere with the country’s emergency and other important frequencies.

The WAERO Pro is being distributed through the company’s website and authorized dealers globally. The system includes a two-year warranty.
