SmallRig has introduced an Advanced Camera Cage Kit for the Nikon ZR that focuses on fast, reliable rigging: a full cage with an integrated Arca plate, ergonomic top and side handles, a dedicated HDMI/USB-C cable clamp, and multiple accessory mounts.
SmallRigβs new kit aims to protect the Nikon ZR while speeding up shifts between handheld, tripod, and gimbal setups. The cage uses a three-point locking system for anti-twist stability, and the included handles expand mounting options for monitors, mics, and lights.
The Advanced kit includes the full cage, a silicone-wrapped top handle, a 360Β° stepless rotating side handle, a NATO rail, an HDMI and USB-C cable clamp, a magnetic dual-head wrench, and two Allen keys.
The cage provides multiple 1/4β³-20 and 3/8β³-16 points, ARRI-style locating interfaces, integrated cold shoes, and a strap slot, giving plenty of ways to place accessories without crowding the body.
The silicone-wrapped top handle offers additional cold shoes plus threaded and ARRI-locating holes for monitor mounts. The side handleβs contoured grip can rotate steplessly through 360 degrees, improving comfort and balance for low-mode and vertical work.
A dedicated clamp secures both HDMI and USB-C leads, lowering the risk of accidental unplugging or port stress during handheld or gimbal use.
An integrated Arca-type quick-release plate under the cage is designed to streamline moves between tripods and DJI RS-series stabilizers, reducing re-rig time on fast shoots.
SmallRig lists aluminum-alloy, stainless-steel, and silicone construction. The Advanced kit is quoted at 613 g, with overall dimensions of 229 Γ 135 Γ 191.7 mm.
Nikon ZR shooters who need secure port protection, flexible handle placement, and quick transitions between handheld, sticks, and RS gimbals will likely benefit most, especially on small-crew and run-and-gun jobs.

SmallRig lists the Advanced kit at $164.99. The company indicates shipments are expected within 40 days.
