Profoto Propanel 3×2 high-output 2000W RGBWW LED panel offers a wide CCT color temperature range from 2,000K to 15,000K, multiple color modes (CCT, HSI, RGBW, XY, gels, and effects), 16-bit dimming down to 0.1%, and flicker-free operation at any frame rate. The panel features 4-zone pixel mapping, IP65 weather resistance, and a ballast-free design with integrated 360° rigging, along with broad connectivity options including DMX/RDM, CRMX, Bluetooth, and Profoto Air. The ProPanel is available for $14,995.
Profoto is a Swedish lighting manufacturer that focuses on premium-priced products aimed at photography and cine professionals. Last year, we informed you about the company’s bright daylight Profoto L1600D spotlight.
This time, Profoto announced a new bright 3×2 LED panel with full color output. During the NAB 2026 show, we met with Niklas Hallgren at the Profoto booth, who told us more about the huge and bright Propanel 3×2. Let’s take a quick look at all the details.
The ProPanel 3×2 is built around an RGBWW LED engine delivering up to 2000W of output, with a correlated color temperature (CCT) range of 2,000K to 15,000K. Color accuracy is a key specification, with ratings of approximately CRI 95 and TLCI 97, indicating consistent color reproduction across different lighting conditions.
The panel supports multiple color control modes, including CCT, HSI, RGBW, XY, gels, and effects, allowing it to adapt to both technical matching and creative lighting setups. The fixture offers 16-bit dimming from 0.1% to 100%, with several selectable dimming curves (linear, exponential, logarithmic, and S-curve). Profoto states that the light is flicker-free at any frame rate, making it suitable for high-speed cinematography and various shutter settings.
With an IP65 rating, the ProPanel 3×2 is protected against dust and water, allowing it to be used in outdoor or challenging environments.
The fixture supports a range of control options, including:
These options enable integration into both traditional lighting rigs and wireless workflows.
The ProPanel 3×2 includes 4-zone pixel mapping, allowing different sections of the panel to be controlled independently. This feature is relevant for virtual production and interactive lighting setups.
The light is powered via AC input (100–240 V) and is designed for continuous operation in professional environments.
The panel weighs approximately 28.5 kg (62.5 lbs), including yoke, which is relatively low for a fixture of this size and output. It uses Profoto’s CTech passive cooling system, designed to maintain performance while keeping operation quiet enough for sound-sensitive environments.
The ProPanel 3×2 features a ballast-free design, which simplifies setup and reduces the number of external components required on set.
An integrated 360° railing system allows the panel to be gripped and mounted from multiple angles, while Profoto’s SpeedClamp system enables quick attachment of modifiers such as softboxes and grids. The unit supports both landscape and portrait orientation without additional adapters.
The price is $14,995 for the light panel and around $995 for the Snapbag, which most likely makes this primarily a rental-house product, but it might also find its way into some owner-operator kits.
What do you think about the Profoto Propanel? Do you often need this kind of output on your sets? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section underneath the article.
