OSEE Mega 15S4 Introduced – IPS Black Panel, 1500 Nits, and Four-Way Multi-View

September 13th, 2026Jump to Comment Section2

OSEE used IBC 2026 for the first public showing of the Mega 15S4, a 15-inch director’s monitor that takes the multi-view layout of the larger Mega 22S4 and adds a new IPS Black panel with deeper blacks and a slight gloss. We spoke to Richard Oosthuizen at the booth about the panel change, the new swivel mount, and a price expected around €1,300.

The Mega 22S4 arrived a year ago as OSEE’s 21.5-inch multi-view monitor, and the 15S4 brings that same basic concept into a more compact format. On the connector panel, the 15S4 does read as a smaller 22S4. The screen is a different matter.

It also follows the Mega 15S, a 15.4-inch, 1500-nit monitor with an anti-reflective coated panel that has been in the range for a couple of years, and which sits a long way above the 1000-nit Megamon 15 we reviewed. Richard drew a clear distinction between the two models, and it comes down to the panel.

Six inputs, four pictures at once

The back carries three SDI inputs and three HDMI inputs, with SDI and HDMI outputs alongside them. That is the same arrangement as the 22S4, which takes three 4K60 HDMI feeds and three 3G-SDI feeds, and it lets the monitor display four sources simultaneously.

For a director’s monitor, that is the functional argument: several camera or playback feeds can live on one screen instead of requiring separate monitors, while the outputs allow those signals to continue further down the chain.

One number to confirm before ordering: on the 22S4, the SDI inputs are 3G, and the 4K60 capability sits on the HDMI side. A specification sheet for the 15S4 hasn’t been published yet, so the SDI bandwidth on the smaller model is worth confirming with OSEE.

The new IPS Black panel

OSEE has moved to an IPS Black panel, and Richard was direct about why: the company is chasing the black levels that creators coming from consumer displays expect, without giving up daylight brightness. As a result, the panel has a small amount of gloss, which is a departure for a monitor line built around a matte, anti-reflective finish.

Peak brightness stays at 1500 nits, matching the 22S4, so the deeper blacks do not cost output. OSEE quotes a contrast ratio of 1650:1.

The monitoring tools are the full set rather than a reduced one: anamorphic de-squeeze, zebra, false color, waveform, and the rest of what OSEE puts in larger panels such as the LCM215-HDR+. Configurations can be stored as MySets, eight of them across pages, so a project that always runs de-squeeze and false color together is one recall away rather than a menu dive.

Landscape to portrait without removing the mount

On the previous generation, moving between horizontal and vertical meant removing the mount and turning it, which Richard described as manageable on a 15-inch panel and awkward on a 22-inch one.

The 15S4 uses a swivel design that lets the monitor sit on a C-stand in either orientation and rotate between them without taking anything off the back. Richard put the changeover at under 20 seconds, which removes a step for anyone shooting vertical deliverables alongside horizontal ones.

Power, and what comes in the case

Power is unchanged from the previous model. The monitor runs from a mains cable or a V-mount battery.

The kit includes the V-mount plate and a zippered carrying case that opens at both the front and the back, so the power connections and the battery stay accessible with the monitor in the case. The case’s front panel doubles as a sunshade.

Price and availability

Richard put the price in the region of €1,300, with a likely range of €1,250 to €1,400, and made it clear the figure is not final. Availability is expected in October.
