ASC Awards 2026 Announced – Robert Yeoman to Receive Lifetime Achievement Honor

The American Society of Cinematographers has revealed the honorees for its 40th Annual Outstanding Achievement Awards, taking place March 8, 2026, at The Beverly Hilton. Robert Yeoman, ASC will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award, while M. David Mullen, ASC, Cynthia Pusheck, ASC, Stephen Pizzello, and Kodak will be celebrated across multiple categories.

The ASC’s milestone 40th awards ceremony will recognize five distinguished recipients whose contributions have shaped the art and craft of cinematography. The gala will be livestreamed globally, allowing cinema professionals and enthusiasts worldwide to participate in the celebration.

Robert Yeoman, ASC has built a legendary career defined by meticulous composition and distinctive use of color and symmetry. His breakthrough came with Gus Van Sant’s “Drugstore Cowboy,” earning him an Independent Spirit Award for Best Cinematography. The cinematographer’s extensive collaboration with director Wes Anderson spans nine films, from “Bottle Rocket” through “Asteroid City,” including “The Grand Budapest Hotel,” which earned Yeoman Oscar, BAFTA, and ASC Award nominations. His additional credits include “Bridesmaids,” “Spy,” “Love & Mercy,” “Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again,” and “The Squid and the Whale.”

“Bob’s work is instantly recognizable – his frames are crafted with precision, warmth and a deep understanding of story,” said ASC President Mandy Walker. “He has elevated the art of cinematography through his enduring collaborations and distinctive visual style, inspiring generations of filmmakers.”

Television excellence recognized

M. David Mullen, ASC will receive the Career Achievement in Television Award for his extensive work across episodic content. His cinematography on “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” earned five Emmy nominations and three wins for outstanding cinematography, plus five ASC Award nominations and two wins. Mullen’s television portfolio includes “Westworld,” “Get Shorty,” “Designated Survivor,” “Extant,” “Big Love,” “The Good Wife,” “Mad Men,” and numerous other series spanning multiple genres.

His feature work includes collaborations with the Polish brothers on “Twin Falls Idaho” and “Northfork,” both earning Independent Spirit Award nominations. Additional credits encompass “The Astronaut Farmer,” “Akeelah and the Bee,” “Jennifer’s Body,” and “The Love Witch.” Mullen co-authored the third edition of Cinematography and co-edited the 11th edition of the American Cinematographer Manual, contributing significantly to cinematography education.

Leadership and advocacy

Cynthia Pusheck, ASC will receive the President’s Award for her extraordinary service to the organization and broader cinematography community. Pusheck became the first woman elected vice president of the ASC and co-founded the ASC Vision Committee, which advances inclusion and supports underrepresented cinematographers across the industry.

Her television credits include “Brothers and Sisters,” “Revenge,” “Good Girls Revolt,” “The Bold Type,” “Sacred Lies,” “Strange Angel,” “Beacon 23,” “Our Flag Means Death,” and “Ballard.” Feature work includes “Loving Annabelle” and “Three Days of Rain.” Women in Media honored Pusheck in 2019, while she received the 2010 Kodak Vision Award at the Women in Film Crystal + Lucy Awards.

Editorial influence

Stephen Pizzello will receive an Award of Distinction for his three decades of leadership at American Cinematographer magazine. As editor-in-chief, Pizzello has shaped the publication’s coverage of cinematographic craft, technology, and artistry. Under his direction, the magazine has earned multiple Eddie Awards from Folio, numerous Maggie Awards, and recognition from IMAGO. The International Cinematographers Guild and Technicolor honored Pizzello in 2017 with the William A. Fraker Award for outstanding journalistic contributions to cinematography.

Technology and preservation

Kodak will receive the Curtis Clark Technology Award recognizing its century-long support of motion picture imaging. The company’s innovations in imaging science and film stock development have shaped cinema’s visual language. Kodak’s commitment to high-quality film materials has proven essential to archival preservation, ensuring cinematic works remain accessible for future audiences.
