Astera has launched the QuikPunch, a new wireless LED Fresnel spotlight that promises to deliver significant power efficiency for film, broadcast, and event productions. The fixture features a 5-inch Fresnel lens with a 13°–60° zoom range and delivers 8,000 lux at 3 meters while consuming only 75W of power, comparable to the output of a traditional 650W tungsten Fresnel. Additionally, the QuickPunch was designed to match a 200W LED PAR with 4.5 hours of runtime.
The QuikPunch is the latest addition to Astera’s “Quik Family” and represents the company’s most energy-efficient spotlight to date. The light was engineered to provide both a sharp, high-intensity beam for spotlight applications and wide, soft wash capabilities for illuminating large surfaces. It is designed to operate without color shift or light spill, addressing common concerns associated with LED lighting in professional environments.
Key features include a removable yoke with foldable feet and airline track compatibility, making it suitable for both floor placement and lighting grid mounting. The fixture also incorporates a built-in KickStand for quick uplighting without the yoke, plus a 3/8″ rear thread supporting baby pin or low-profile Superclamp mounting.
Like other Astera products, the QuikPunch comes equipped with a battery-driven PrepBox and ChargingPlate for streamlined setup and operation. The wireless design eliminates the need for cable runs while maintaining professional-grade output levels, positioning it as a versatile tool for crews working across event, film, and broadcast productions.
The QuikPunch joins Astera’s existing wireless lighting ecosystem, building on the success of their smaller 3-inch QuikSpot model while offering increased output and versatility for larger-scale applications.
For more information, please head to the company’s product page here, and if you are visiting Cine Gear, you can check out the new product as the company will be demonstrating the new light at Stage 30 & 31, Booth S3063.
