During the cinema5D Virtual Show, Toby Sali from BB&S Lighting has just announced a new bi-color version of their BB&S Compact Beamlight lightweight fixture. The bi-color CBL is a 40W light that can go from 2700K to 6500K with a constant output, no matter the color temperature. Let’s take a closer look at it!

BB&S Compact Beamlight Features

The BB&S Compact Beamlight (CBL-1) is a compact, lightweight, and precise 40W LED light that came out last year. The fixture delivers an output of around 4.000 lumens with a CRI of 97. You can dim the CBL-1 from 0 to 100%, and it is flicker-free.

The original CBL-1 is available in either 2700K, 3000K 4000K, or 5600K fixed color temperature. In front of the LED chip, there is a collimator Fresnel lens, which is fixed. You have to choose when you buy it between the 7 degrees, 11 degrees, 14 degrees, or 17 degrees models. You can’t adjust the beam angle on the light itself.

The light can be powered by AC-Power or via a 14.4 VDC battery. Otherwise, the BB&S Compact Beamlight is a modular system, so when you purchase a light head, you need to get yourself a power supply unit, a driver-dimmer, a 3-pin XLR cable to feed the light head, barndoors and so on.

BB&S Compact Beamlight Bi-Color and Accessories

During our cinema5D Virtual Show, Toby Sali just announced a new version of the BB&S Compact Beamlight, which is Bi-Color. The Bi-Color version can go from 2700K to 6500K. It is still a 40W fixture, with a constant output of 4.000 lumens, no matter the color temperature you set it at. Otherwise, the front-element is still build-in, and you’ll need to choose the beam angle you want when you purchase it.

A couple of magnetic light modifiers are available for the BB&S Compact Beamlight eco-system, including magnetic barndoors, a magnetic ring for filtering, and a magnetic top-hat.

Pricing and Availability

The original BB&S Compact Beamlight (CBL-1) is available now. The light-head retails for $450.00, the 65-watt power supply is $79.00, the CBL-1 Driver/Dimmer is $239.00, the Pipeline 4-Way Controller with DMX is $895.00, and a 3-pin XLR 8′ extension cable is $39.00.
