Canon 7D DIY Wooden Shoulder Rig With Follow Focus.

May 4th, 2010

I love it when the story is so close to home. I found this really cool little video from Cinema 5D viewer Clifford Bergqvist in the videolog portion of the site. Clifford employed his father to construct a really nice shoulder rig for his Canon 7D, using wood and a neat little follow focus built into the left handle. Great job filming this little Doc on the construction of the rig. This looks like a great way to save up for some nice Zeiss ZE glass. Thanks for posting this Clifford.

That will be patented by zacuto, redrock micro or some other company in a heartbeat. Such is the the world of money.

No one can touch that Follow Focus! Grab the patent for that idea fast. :)

Man! That follow focus is great, and got me thinking you could actually stack two rotative bars, one for focus and one for zoom. Then it would be a master piece.

Loved it. I wish I had enough cash to set up a workshop like that and make lots of toys.

Just amazing. Love the fact that you started with a tree limb and ended up with a full DSLR Rig! I love the inventive follow focus most though. Great idea.
