Last August we’ve reported about the CineSkates, a gorillapod on wheels.
This was a very innovative invention and now, half a year later, Cinetics have taken the product a step further to a place that I think is currently a market niche.
Mounting a camera to a car can be a challenge and the CineSquid looks like it could make that job so much easier, a dedicated tool for HDSLR cameras.
Founder Justin Jensen told me the CineSquid would hold cameras with a weight of up to 5lbs (2.2kg). It won’t hold my Scarlet, but it will mount any HDSLR to a glossy surface of your choice. I’m thinking this could be a pretty helpful and versatile tool for the HDSLR filmer.
Of course we’ll have to wait and see how this product eventually holds up to all the challenges of car mounting. Will it absorb the shake and wobble so hostile to your CMOS camera?
The price seems right: CineSquid will cost $235 and will ship by April 30th 2012 if you preorder soon.
We’ll definitely take a look at it asap.
