Core SWX Hypercore G3 Batteries with New Robust Housing and More Introduced

Core SWX is a leading U.S. company manufacturing powering solutions for our filmmaking industry. Today’s announcement is surrounding their new, third-generation Hypercore G3 batteries. These offer a 20A power delivery, the PD Pro connection, a new robust polycarbonate housing, a side LCD runtime display, wraparound RGB gauge, standard P-Tap, and Voltbridge ID. The batteries will be available in 99Wh and 144Wh, in V/G mounts.

Core SWX aimed to ensure a robust product that can be used in demanding environments, and according to the company, they used a polycarbonate shell which provides great protection. Next was tackling enhanced user convenience, and to do that they used an RGB LED battery status gauge to provide intuitive visual feedback. This way, clear and easy monitoring of battery status from any angle is guaranteed, ensuring differentiation between multiple packs for better workflow management on set.

Another point worth mentioning is the 20A load handling current, ensuring reliable and consistent power delivery. Another useful “add-on” is the Voltbridge iD chip which enables logging of battery data in a local database on mobile phones, customization of RGB LED colors, and more.

Two PD Pro tap ports for a wide-range auxiliary voltage output from 5V to 28V, along with up to 185W output alongside traditional P tap connector ports can also be found. USBC-PD, the PD Pro taps integrated within the G3 HyperCore Packs, extend their utility beyond merely powering, allowing charging of multiple devices. Additionally, this compatibility enables the G3 packs to be charged from USBC-PD chargers at up to 100 watts input.

The new batteries will be offered in both 99Wh and 144Wh capacities and V-mount and G-mount type variants.
