DJI Power 2000 Introduced – Stackable, Portable Power Station for On-Set and Remote Use

The DJI Power 2000 is a compact portable power station built for high-demand situations but in a smaller form factor. It has a 2048Wh capacity and delivers up to 3000W of continuous output, with the option to expand using stackable battery units for a total of up to 22,528Wh. It also recharges up to 80% in less than an hour. So, whether you’re powering lights on location, need to charge your drone, or simply want a reliable way to keep things running, the Power 2000 could offer a practical solution. Let’s take a closer look!

DJI is widely recognized for their drones, including the recently released Mavic 4 Pro with 6K video and a fully rotating gimbal (you’ll find our first look review here). We also covered their Power 1000 & Power Expansion 2000 in a recent review (take a closer look here). However, the Power 2000 isn’t just a combination of the previous setup into one unit; it brings a few notable upgrades: more ports, built-in wireless control, a higher 3000W output, and quiet operation at just 30 dB while charging in Standard Recharge Mode.

Continuous output in a carry-on size

The DJI Power 2000 has a 2048Wh capacity and delivers up to 3000W of continuous output, so there is enough power to run most household appliances or multiple pieces of gear on location. It includes four AC outlets, four USB-C ports, and four USB-A ports, so you can charge everything from laptops to lights. Despite its power, the unit is compact and can be expanded with up to ten additional 2048Wh Battery 2000 modules, for a total capacity of 22,528Wh.

And for those who want to use the Power  2000 to charge their drones, the unit includes two dedicated SDC ports that fast-charge DJI drone batteries directly and is compatible with models like the Air 3, Mavic 3, Inspire 3, and the new Mavic 4 Pro.

Measuring 40.6 cm (about 16 inches) tall with a total volume of 32.6 liters, the Power 2000 is roughly the size of a carry-on, though at approximately 22 kg (48.5 lbs), it’s not something you’d lift overhead. However, it should fit easily in a car trunk or gear van and can be tucked away at home. For easier transport, especially when paired with expansion batteries, the company offers a dedicated hand truck built for the Power series.

Recharging the Power 2000

The Power 2000 can be recharged in several ways, depending on where you are and what’s available. It supports grid power at home or in the studio, solar charging for off-grid setups, and you can charge from your car while on the road. There’s also a hybrid mode that combines multiple sources for faster results.

• Grid Power: Charges from 0 to 80% in 55 minutes, or to 100% in 90 minutes.
• Solar Charging: Using up to 1800W of solar input, a full charge takes around 75 minutes.
• Car Charging: With the appropriate fast charger, a full recharge from a car alternator takes about 145 minutes.
• Hybrid Charging: AC and DC input can be combined to reach up to 3000W, with solar prioritized when available.

UPS mode in the event of an outage

The Power 2000 also includes a built-in Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) mode. When the unit is plugged in and connected to a device, it automatically switches to battery power in the event of an outage, with a response time under 0.01 seconds. This can be useful for keeping sensitive equipment running without interruption. Internally, the battery management system (BMS) monitors 26 temperature points and includes 21 fuses for circuit protection. It’s designed to function in temperatures up to 45°C (113°F) and holds its charge even when powered off for longer periods.

Ten years, one charge at a time

The Power 2000 uses a lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery rated for 4,000 full charge cycles while retaining 80% of its original capacity, so roughly ten years if charged once a day. Safety improvements span the entire system, from battery chemistry to internal design. A new sub-nano coating protects against moisture and salt exposure, and the inverter is sealed with a potting process that enables it to function reliably in humid or coastal environments. DJI reports that the outer casing is flame-retardant and can withstand up to one ton of pressure, reducing the risk of damage during transport or setup.

Control with the DJI Home app

You can monitor and control the Power 2000 from your phone using the DJI Home app. It displays real-time battery status, input/output power, and temperature readings, and lets you switch AC outlets on or off remotely. The app also supports firmware updates and shows data for any connected expansion batteries or fast chargers.

Price and availability

The DJI Power 2000 is available now from the DJI store and is priced at $1,899, but is currently offered at 40% off, $1,099, until July 15th. Prices may vary according to region. It’s also available on B&H for $1,299.

Accessories can be purchased separately (also currently at discounted prices), including a Power 1.8kW Solar Generator Expansion Combo, a Power Car Power Outlet to SDC Power Cable, a 1.8kW Super Fast Car Charging Combo, plus various drone charging cables.

DJI has a so-called Worry-Free After-Sales Service (30-day return and exchange service). Plus, there is a 3-year warranty, which can be extended to 5 years by registering related information on their official website.
