Frame.io Updates – Premiere Pro Panel, AI-Powered Search, and Enhanced Security Features

Frame.io has released a substantial wave of updates for October and November 2025, bringing a rebuilt Premiere Pro panel to general availability, introducing AI-powered media search capabilities, and adding enterprise-grade security features including forensic watermarking and DRM protection.

Following Adobe MAX 2025, the cloud-based video collaboration platform frame.io has transitioned several major features from beta to full release while introducing new capabilities aimed at streamlining professional post-production workflows.

The Premiere Pro panel gets a complete rebuild

The most significant update for editors working in Adobe’s ecosystem is the general availability of the upgraded Frame.io panel for Premiere Pro 25.6. Rebuilt from the ground up, this new panel allows editors to browse and manage projects, files, and folders within their Frame.io library directly from the NLE interface. Media can be imported into project bins while maintaining full folder structures, sequences can be shared for feedback, and review comments sync back as markers on the Premiere timeline.

Quality-of-life improvements already include a default Sequences view for faster cut exports and batch import options for choosing between originals, high-res proxies, or low-res proxies.

AI-powered search with media intelligence

Search functionality has been completely rebuilt with what the company calls “media intelligence.” For users on paid plans, the system now accepts natural language queries like “Sunset clips of happy people, status is approved” rather than requiring exact filenames. The platform uses natural language processing to map requests to relevant assets by drawing on metadata and indexed fields.

For Teams and Enterprise customers, a visual search feature (currently in beta) analyzes the visual content of footage, surfacing related results even when descriptions or labels are incomplete. By default, the system automatically indexes the last 30 days of new uploads, with Enterprise customers able to arrange historical indexing through their customer success manager.

Enterprise security expands with forensic watermarking and DRM

For Enterprise Prime customers and some legacy Enterprise plans, Forensic Watermarking and Digital Rights Management are now fully available. Forensic Watermarking invisibly stamps each video with a unique, traceable signature for every viewer and delivery, while DRM restricts playback to authorized viewers in supported browsers and Frame.io apps.

A new Content Credentials feature also enables users to view and verify the origin of media assets, including whether content was created with AI.

Firefly Actions bring AI tools inside Frame.io

New Firefly Actions (currently in beta for Firefly Services customers) help Enterprise teams work at scale. Reframe generates new aspect ratios without timeline rebuilds, Dub creates multilingual versions in 17 languages, and Remove Background provides quick image cleanup. Actions can be triggered on single assets or batches of up to 100 files.

Camera to Cloud and integration updates

Camera to Cloud now supports the FUJIFILM X-T30 III, automatically uploading RAW, JPEG, and HEIF files via the C2C API with optional Lightroom connectivity. Additional integrations include image.canon support for Canon cameras and a new MASV integration for sending files directly to Frame.io Version 4 projects.

Webhooks settings (in beta) are now available through the web interface for all Version 4 users, enabling event-driven integrations with work management platforms and connector tools like Zapier and Fusion without API configuration.

Performance and reliability improvements

Frame.io iOS app performance has improved significantly, with cold launches seeing up to 30x faster perceived performance for the largest accounts. The Transfer App v1.10.0 addresses reliability issues including transfer jobs failing after approximately 8 hours, UI update problems after successful uploads, and timeout settings for large files. The update also adds DRM and Forensic Watermarking support for Version 4 accounts.

Sharing and review workflow updates

The Share Builder has been redesigned with all controls consolidated in a streamlined right-side panel. Share Viewer pages now open assets with a single click rather than requiring double-clicks, and Share Activity tracking shows whether Shares were opened, which assets were viewed, and whether comments were left.

A new Auto option for transcriptions automatically detects spoken language and matches transcription settings accordingly, reducing setup time for multilingual projects.

Frame.io continues expanding its position as a central hub for professional video collaboration with these updates targeting both individual editors and enterprise production teams.
