The P600R Hard P4 and P1200R Hard P8 represent Godox’s latest iteration in their KNOWLED hard panel lineup. These fixtures deliver 600W and 1200W, respectively, with the P600R producing approximately 73,200 lux at 1 meter (5600K) and the P1200R reaching 141,000 lux under identical conditions. The “P4” and “P8” designations indicate four-zone and eight-zone pixel control, enabling segmented lighting effects and more granular creative control than single-zone fixtures.

Both panels feature a 55-degree beam angle, creating focused output suitable for long-throw applications or situations requiring punch through ambient light. The color temperature range spans 1800K to 10,000K with full RGB capabilities, supported by CRI 97 and TLCI 98 ratings. Pixel-level control enables dynamic effects, advanced light shaping, and creative motion directly from the fixture without requiring external processing.

The panels support DMX512/RDM, LumenRadio CRMX wireless control, and Art-Net/sACN protocols for integration with professional lighting consoles. Active cooling systems maintain thermal stability during extended high-output operation, particularly relevant for multi-hour shoots or installations where passive cooling proves insufficient.

Adjustable diffusion and modular accessories

Perhaps the most distinctive feature of these panels is the adjustable diffusion system, which allows cinematographers to transition from hard, directional output to soft, diffused quality within seconds. This flexibility eliminates the need to swap between multiple fixtures or add external diffusion frames, streamlining workflow on location shoots where time and setup space constrain options.

However, the adjustable diffusion system will not be available in the US market. American cinematographers will need to rely on external diffusion methods or Godox’s separate softbox and grid accessories to modify light quality.

The fixtures accept the full range of P-series modifiers, including softboxes, grids, barn doors, and dome diffusers. Dual and triple light brackets enable stacked configurations for even greater output, a common requirement for large-scale exterior night work or matching natural daylight through windows.
