NANLITE brought its two most powerful FC fixtures to IBC 2026, the bi-color FC-1200B and the full-color FC-1200C, both rated at 1350W with 1200W of output and both built with the power supply inside the head rather than in a separate ballast. We spoke to Andy Lin at the booth about why the company put everything in one housing, and which existing modifiers remain compatible at this power level.<\/strong><\/p><439313-inline-buylinks\/>\n\n\n\n

The FC-1200B and FC-1200C were announced<\/a> shortly before the show, so the numbers were already out, and they follow the Forza 720 and 720B<\/a> in a steady climb up the company’s power range. The booth conversation was about the reasoning, and it started with an argument worth repeating, because it runs against the direction most lighting marketing has taken.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Modern cameras are more sensitive than ever, which in a controlled environment means they need less light. Andy’s point was that controlled environments are the exception. On most jobs, sun comes through a window or a practical nobody can switch off, and the fixture has to compete with those rather than replace them. Power is what buys you the option to bounce, diffuse, or balance instead of accepting what the room gives you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What a 1200W fixture does to your wall socket<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The lights draw around 1350W rated. Andy walked through the mains question directly, because at this output it’s one of the first practical concerns for a rental house or small crew.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The fixtures are designed to run from standard 100\u2013240V AC power, so they can be used from ordinary household mains in both 110\/120V and 220\/240V regions. On lower-voltage circuits, though, there is much less headroom once a 1350W fixture is plugged in, so crews still need to pay attention to what else is sharing the circuit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Either way, the practical point is that these are 1200W lights that do not require a separate high-current power solution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One head, one cable<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The visible change is what’s missing. No control box hangs below the yoke, because the fixture, control electronics, and power supply are all in the same housing. One head, one cable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Andy gave two reasons. Wireless control has become reliable enough that a separate tethered controller is no longer the only sensible way to drive a light of this size, and at this power level people expect to move the fixture rather than leave it built. Collapsing it into a single unit means carrying one thing instead of a head, a ballast, and the cable between them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The trade-off is weight in the head. Both fixtures weigh around 10kg (22lb) and measure 42.8 x 38.1 x 19.9cm (16.9 x 15.0 x 7.8in), which is all above the stand rather than split between the stand and the floor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stand choice matters<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Because the power supply and control electronics are built into the head, the fixture carries more weight above the stand than a comparable light with a separate ballast. NANLITE uses a combined junior pin and baby pin receiver, and Andy recommends a proper combo stand or another support rated for the load.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That is worth keeping in mind for crews moving up from smaller FC fixtures, especially once a softbox or other modifier is added. The Bowens mount remains the same as on NANLITE\u2019s other higher-powered FC lights, so many existing modifiers can still be used, although the stand itself needs to be appropriate for the added weight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Accessory compatibility<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

NANLITE has tested the softboxes and the reflector against the new output and says both are cleared for use. The 45\u00b0 RF-BM reflector ships in the box.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, Andy said the Fresnel and projection attachments in the current accessory line are not rated for this amount of energy, simply because of the amount of energy involved, and that NANLITE is working on versions that are. Anyone planning a hard beam through a Fresnel, or a gobo through a projector attachment, will have to wait for those. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Color, control, and noise<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The FC-1200B is a conventional bi-color fixture covering 2700K to 6500K, with an average CRI of 96 and TLCI of 98, plus effects including paparazzi, flash, CCTV, and rope light. NANLITE quotes<\/a> up to 15,620 lux at 3m (9.8ft) with the 45\u00b0 reflector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The FC-1200C uses the Nebula C4 engine and reaches from 2400K to 12,000K, with green and magenta adjustment of \u00b1150 and the full set of CCT, HSI, RGBW, gel, and effect modes. Andy made the practical case for the wider range rather than the spec one: if the camera is set warm for a look, or cool for a moonlight scene, a fixture that goes further in both directions lets you push against that white balance instead of fighting it. Output is up to 14,220 lux at 3m (9.8ft).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Control runs through direct fixture controls, the NANLINK App 2.0 over Bluetooth, wired DMX and RDM, and NFC. Fan noise is quoted as low as approximately 26 dB(A) in the quietest mode. There is no IP rating on either fixture, so both are intended for covered use. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The FC-1200B is priced at $1,290, while the FC-1200C is $1,490 in the US. In Europe, current retailer pricing is around \u20ac1,163 FC-1200B and \u20ac1,396 FC-1200C. Availability varies by region, with both models currently listed as preorder or backorder at major retailers. NANLITE also offers an optional trolley case<\/a> for crews moving the fixtures regularly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
