SIRUI B25R Dragon Series - Bendable RGB Lights Announced

The SIRUI B25R is a new bendable RGB LED light that offers full color settings, a 2700-8500K CCT mode, 16 built-in effects, and an output of up to 2000 lux at 0.5m. Multiple lights can be stacked together, controlled via a smartphone app, and mounted with various 1/4″ threads. SIRUI B25R is available now for $159.

Chinese manufacturer SIRUI is not only producing anamorphic lenses and tripods anymore. They also started making video lights this year – in June 2022 SIRUI announced two new COB Bowens mount fixtures and one light panel. Today, the company introduced another new interesting light. It sort of merges a flexible LED panel with an RGB tube into a single product – SIRUI calls it the world’s first bendable LED light. Let’s take a short look at the new SIRUI B25R.

The new SIRUI B25R is a two-way bendable RGB LED light fixture. It looks a bit like a bunch of pocket-sized Aputure MC lights connected together to create a long tube-like fixture. It can be bent inwards or outwards to create various shapes.

Each end of the B25R features a 1/4″ thread plus a quick-release design that allows connecting multiple lights in series to create an even longer light source. There are also additional 1/4″ threads at the back of each B25R panel for mounting on light stands etc.

SIRUI B25R offers full color in RGB or HSI mode (hue 0-360°, saturation 0-100, intensity 0-100%) as well as a 2700-8500K temperature range (with green/magenta adjustment) in CCT mode. The FX mode includes 16 lighting effects: welding, flash, impulse, lightning, ambulance, blast, fire, firework, police car, fire truck, disco, broken bulb, RGB cycle, candle, TV, and SOS.

SIRUI claims that the B25R offers high CRI (up to 96) and TLCI (up to 98) values. There are 10 user-programmable presets that can be saved to have the desired setting ready quickly. When it comes to light output, SIRUI states that the B25R can achieve up to 2000 lux at 0.5m.

The SIRUI B25R features a dual-power solution – it can run either off the included AC adapter (9V, 4A) or through a single NP-F970 battery. The lights can be controlled via four buttons on the body itself or via a smartphone app which can also control a group of SIRUI lights. The dimensions of the B25R light panel are 583 x 75 x 32.3mm and it weighs 960g (2.12 lbs).

Price and availability

Until December 13, 2022, the bendable SIRUI light is available for an early-bird price of $159 (€169 including VAT in Europe) for one panel. You can also buy two panels at a slightly reduced price of $319 (€329 including VAT in Europe) and you will get a free connector to mount both lights next to each other and double the output. SIRUI claims that after that, the full retail price will be $199 for one piece and $399 for the set of two.

What do you think about the new SIRUI B25R bendable fixture? Is this a worthy (or even a better) alternative to tube lights? Let us know in the comments section underneath the article.
