SmallRig has launched a new V-Mount battery, the VB99 SE mini battery. This compact and lightweight 99Wh battery supports up to a 10A draw at a nominal 14.8V and features a parallel circuit design to charge multiple devices simultaneously.
SmallRig comes back with another mini V-mount battery (not long ago, we wrote an article about the release of their SmallRig VB212 mini V-Mount in collaboration with Caleb Pike). The VB99 SE mini V-Mount battery is a travel-friendly battery (4.4 x 2.8 x 2.1″ / 112 x 72 x 53 mm) that can power handheld cameras, drones, gimbals, etc.
The VB99 SE mini battery weighs 21 oz (595 g) and has a fire-resistant casing and an integrated OLED display showing the remaining battery capacity and status. The unit provides different ports like a 14.8V D-Tap output, one 8 VDC barrel output, a 12 VDC barrel output, one USB-C output, and a USB-A output for powering accessories.
Users can charge the battery in different ways: using a standard V-Mount charger, via an optional D-Tap charger, or the USB-C input/output with a 65W PD fast charger. Both USB ports are in different circuits, allowing them to output simultaneously.
The SmallRig VB99 SE mini V-Mount battery has a management system that protects it, featuring over-discharge, cell, short circuit, overload, temperature, overcharge, and overcurrent protection. The battery has a BMS intelligent chip that enables 65W (Max) fast charging for a full charge in three hours.
In a practical way, here are some examples from SmallRig regarding common charging scenarios:
The SmallRig VB99 SE mini V-Mount Battery is now available for pre-order for $149, and the estimated shipping time is July 25, 2024. For more information, please visit the product’s website here.
