TTArtisan 7.5mm F/2.0 – $150 APS-C Fisheye Lens

TTArtisan 7.5mm F/2.0 - $150 APS-C Fisheye Lens

Chinese lens manufacturer TTArtisan recently released an incredibly affordable fisheye lens for APS-C cameras: the TTArtisan 7.5mm F/2.0. This compact and lightweight piece of glass is available in 7 different lens mounts, and it retails for only $150.00. Let’s take a closer look at it!

TTArtisan is a young Chinese company founded in 2019 that specializes in fully manual photography lenses. The company already released a dozen lenses in less than two years at aggressive prices, including the $98 priced TTArtisan 50mm F/1.2 lens for APS-C/M43 cameras and the $73 priced TTArtisan 35mm F/1.4. Yes, you are reading these prices correctly: TTArtisan’s price/quality ratio is incredible and hard to beat.

The company is back today with a new fisheye lens for APS-C mirrorless cameras: the TTArtisan 7.5mm F/2.0.

TTArtisan 7.5mm F/2.0 features

The TTArtisan 7.5mm F/2.0 is a fisheye lens for APS-C cameras. These kinds of lenses are mostly used for creative purposes, giving you a 180° viewing angle (around 150° on an MFT camera) with extreme distortion. In short, it is not the kind of glass you use for portraits, but it can give you one-of-a-kind results.

This 7.5mm F/2.0 piece is entirely made out of metal, and it is very compact at only 53/59mm long by 72mm wide, for a weight of 343/370g, depending on the lens mount you choose.

Talking about lens mounts, the TTArtisan 7.5mm F/2.0 is available in either Canon EOS-M, Canon RF, FUJIFILM X, Leica L, Micro Four Thirds, Nikon Z, and Sony E mounts.

Lens design

The lens design of this 7.5mm F/2.0 fisheye lens consists of 11 elements in 8 groups. The aperture diaphragm consists of seven aperture blades, but it is not clickless. The minimum focus distance is only 20cm/0.63ft, which should give you some room for creative shots!

I don’t know any fisheye lens that accepts front filters, and neither does this one. However, you can mount filters at the back of the lens, and it even comes with an ND1000 ND filter.
