Vocas has announced a new follow focus, the MFC-2 is a modular system which when fully spec’d is designed for the single operator.
The Vocas MFC-2 is a slim line follow focus, its design is very modular allowing users to purchase parts separately or in packages according to individual requirement.
The full package sports a unique palm support arm, enabling the user to operate the follow focus without relying on it for camera stability. Deferring the camera support to the new arm allows the operator to make focus’ adjustments whilst maintaining a stable image.
The Vocas MFC-2 is reversible, slides and tilts, which alongside its slim design makes it a very versatile device. It’s compatible with a variety of lenses and with your pick of a 1:1 or 1:75 ratio box unit it’s easy to switch between stills or cine lenses.
Further more to its modular design, there are two designs available for the main knob, wood and standard black plastic; both aesthetics offer with and without hard stop options.
It mounts to standard 15mm rails; a nice feature (and now popular with follow focus units) is the snap-on action for quick mounting & alleviating the need to touch other surrounding kit such as your mattebox.
The Vocas MFC-2 ships in December, kits start at €999, stretching to €1481 with palm support.
