Zacuto Gratical Firmware 1.1 – Improved LUT Support plus more.

Zacuto Gratical Firmware 1.1 - Improved LUT Support plus more.

Zacuto GraticalThe Zacuto Gratical viewfinder has received its first downloadable firmware update. Version 1.1 has a host of new features and updates, mostly surrounding the implementation of LUTs.

LUTs (or Look Up Tables) can now be tweaked and exported on the Gratical. Whilst we’re still waiting for 3D LUT support, 1D LUTs are compatible and can now also be configured to any function button.

A new added feature often overlooked is the option to toggle scopes between raw input data from camera or raw input data plus
Gratical applied LUTs.

This means that you can record in a log (flat profile) and view a more pleasing contrasted LUT but set your scopes to still adhere to the camera recording. This is important as you are monitoring the levels of your recording via scopes but still viewing your LUT, which is easier to focus with/looks more like the graded final output.

Audio Meters are now enabled on the SDI path, scopes can be assigned to the top or bottom of your screen, and peaking and zebras can now be viewed simultaneously for perfect focus.

Other tweaks include correct zebra values, correct scaling for anamorphic shooting and correct detection when using Odyssey recorders.

The full list of improvements in the firmware 1.1 can be found here.
