iodyne has announced the Pro Mini, a smart drive designed specifically for video and photo production needs. The Pro Mini features sustained read and write performance, Passkey authentication, digital label, find my tracking, 4TB and 8TB capacity options, and more. iodyne calls it ‘the first-ever Smart Drive’. So… let’s take a look at it!

iodyne is a company specializing in storage systems for professionals in the filmmaking and photography industry, like the iodyne Pro Data 48TB, launched in 2022. Now, the brand has returned with the iodyne Pro Mini. This portable drive delivers more than 3GB/s of continued performance, featuring universal USB 4/Thunderbolt connectivity, a solid-state cooling system, a customizable digital label, and more. The Pro Mini should help avoid production workflow bottlenecks that professionals tend to accept as an inherent part of the process, like performance limitations of SSD drives, lack of optimal security, the habit of stacking drives instead of reusing them for new projects, etc.

Every single feature was thoughtfully designed and considered with the needs of production professionals in mind. iodyne Pro Mini’s main features

iodyne Pro Mini will be introduced at the IBC Show in Amsterdam, September 13-16, in Hall 6 Booth A22. Pro Mini can be pre-ordered soon through iodyne’s official partners and distributors. It will be available for select beta customers in Q4 2024 and shipping in Q1 2025
