CVP Launches Warranty+ – Up to 4 Extra Years of Cover, Worldwide Repairs, and ProRepairs Support

CVP Launches Warranty+ – Up to 4 Extra Years of Cover, Worldwide Repairs, and ProRepairs Support

CVP has introduced Warranty+, a new extended warranty programme that takes over the moment a manufacturer’s warranty expires. It can be added for up to four additional years on eligible gear bought directly from CVP, protects against mechanical and electrical breakdown, and is backed worldwide by CVP’s ProRepairs engineers and authorized service partners.

Extended warranties are nothing new in professional video, but they have usually been tied to a single manufacturer’s scheme, like the RED extended warranty for camera BRAINs or Sony’s PrimeSupport tiers that CVP already sells. Warranty+ is different in that it is a CVP-run programme designed to sit on top of whatever the manufacturer offers, kicking in only once that original cover runs out. For working filmmakers who keep gear in rotation well beyond the standard one or two-year window, that gap is exactly where an unexpected repair bill tends to land.

How it works and what is covered

Your manufacturer’s warranty stays unchanged for its full term, and Warranty+ begins the day after it ends, with no overlap or duplication. You can extend by one, two, three, or four years depending on eligibility, for a maximum of five years combined. One caveat: the full four-year extension is only available on products that ship with a standard one-year manufacturer warranty, since the programme is capped at five years total.

Cover applies to mechanical and electrical breakdown during normal professional use, with CVP listing internal component failure, electronic circuit faults, mechanical malfunctions, display and panel failures, and power supply failures as examples. It does not cover accidental damage, liquid damage, theft or loss, cosmetic damage, consumables such as batteries, software corruption or data loss, or damage from misuse or unauthorized modification. This is a breakdown warranty, not all-risks insurance, so a camera dunked in a river or a cracked monitor still needs separate equipment cover.

Eligibility, pricing, and repairs

Pricing starts from £21.74 for one year, £40.67 for two years, £59.00 for three years, and £65.00 for four years, depending on the product and original warranty length. (Affiliate disclosure: CVP is a CineD partner, and purchases made through our links may earn CineD a commission at no extra cost to you.) Eligibility is limited to products bought directly from CVP with a unit value below £10,000, and used gear is not covered. Adding it at checkout or via your Account Manager requires no inspection, while retrospective cover is possible within nine months of purchase, subject to an engineer inspection. Warranty+ cannot be added once the manufacturer warranty has expired.

As a manufacturer Authorised Service Centre, CVP carries out repairs through its ProRepairs engineers or authorized partners, with all warranty repairs taking place at CVP Brentford or CVP Belgium. If a repair is not viable, CVP may provide an equivalent replacement or a refund up to the original purchase value. Coverage is worldwide once active, the warranty is attached to the equipment so it transfers if you sell or relocate, and return shipping after repair is covered, though sending the item in is not.

Warranty+ is available now directly through CVP, online at checkout, via an Account Manager, or retrospectively for eligible orders. Full terms and eligibility details are on the CVP Warranty+ page.
