Thypoch Simera-C 100mm T1.9 Announced – Telephoto Prime Completes Seven-Lens Cine Set

Thypoch has added a 100mm T1.9 to its compact Simera-C cine prime series, the seventh and final focal length in the full-frame set. The new lens takes the line beyond 75mm for the first time and targets close-ups, reaction shots, and narrative details. It keeps the familiar Simera-C formula of a 16-blade iris, 210° focus throw and native Sony E or Leica M mounts, at a price that stays well below traditional cinema glass.

The Thypoch Simera-C 100mm T1.9 covers the full-frame image circle (43.2mm) and uses an optical design of 11 elements in 8 groups. Its horizontal field of view on full frame is 21.4°, and the minimum focusing distance is 0.85m / 2ft 10in, measured from the sensor plane. The aperture runs from T1.9 to T16 through a 16-blade iris. Focus rotation is 210°, and both the focus and iris rings carry 0.8 MOD gears. The front diameter is 72mm / 2.83in, with an M67x0.75 filter thread. In Sony E mount, the lens measures 86.4mm / 3.4in and weighs 477g / 1.05lb; the Leica M version is 76.6mm / 3.02in long and weighs 451g / 0.99lb.

We first covered the series when the original four Simera-C cine lenses (28, 35, 50 and 75mm) arrived in 2024. Thypoch later added the 21mm T1.5 and, in May 2026, the 16mm T1.9 together with a six-lens kit. With the 100mm, the Simera-C family now spans 16, 21, 28, 35, 50, 75 and 100mm.

Optics and rendering

According to Thypoch, the 100mm is tuned for defined subject detail combined with soft, natural bokeh and smooth transitions into the out-of-focus areas. The company also highlights chromatic aberration control as a priority of the optical design.

Like the 16mm, the 100mm opens to T1.9, while the five focal lengths in between stay at T1.5. On a long lens with a 0.85m close focus, T1.9 already produces a very thin focus plane, and the lens has no electronic contacts, so focus pulling remains fully manual.

Matching the rest of the set

The 100mm shares its barrel length (86.4mm in E-mount) and its 67mm filter thread with the 75mm, and it is only 24g heavier. Gear positions are consistent across the series, so follow focus motors and screw-on filters can move between the two longest lenses without readjustment. Gimbal users get the same advantage: swapping between the 75mm and 100mm requires little or no rebalancing. For standard 80mm matte boxes, the 67-80mm adapter ring Thypoch recommends for the 75mm also fits the 100mm.

Mount options

The lens is available in black with a native Sony E or Leica M mount. With Thypoch’s positive-lock adapters, part of what the company calls its “M TO ALL” approach, the Leica M version can be used on compatible cameras from Sony, Canon, Fujifilm, Panasonic Lumix, and DJI. Each lens ships with front and rear caps, back-focus adjustment shims, a mount tool kit, and a warranty card.

Thypoch says shipping starts in late October 2026. The suggested retail price is $879 / €799 in Sony E-mount and $959 / €869 in Leica M mount (euro prices include VAT).
