Alteon Camera-to-Cloud All-in-One Media Hub Introduced

April 28th, 2023 Jump to Comment Section

Alteon, a comprehensive content management system for creatives, introduced their camera-to-cloud all-in-one solution, that can do everything from uploading, storing, transcoding, sharing, commenting, archiving, and more. The company is harnessing the power of the cloud to free up your computer. We caught up with Matt Cimaglia from Alteon at NAB 2023 to explain their media hub and what is different compared to competing products.

Alteon was exhibiting for the second year at NAB 2023 and won a “Product of the Year 2023” award from the NAB Show.

Alteon media hub features

Compared to competing providers, the Alteon media hub is aimed at independent creators. You can sign up and fully use the platform within the same day, without the need to do a lot of setup and integration.

Regarding camera-to-cloud, the company already offers an iOS app, which automatically pushes all recordings to the cloud. In the next few months, Alteon will release integration with Teradek, which will allow the cloud upload from any camera that is connected to one of Teradek’s camera-to-cloud supported devices.

Software Integration

On the software side, there is already integration available for Final Cut Pro and Adobe Premiere Pro. Later this year, integration with DaVinci Resolve will also be released. The integration for these editing apps was programmed to look and feel like it is part of the app and not a plugin.

Alteon is using the power of the cloud to free up your computer when transcoding files. You can still use your computer normally while transcoding, without using all of your computer’s resources.

File support

The media hub can also transcode RAW formats like Blackmagic RAW. ProRes RAW support is also coming in summer of 2023. At the end of the year, support for ARRIRAW will also be released.

Aside from RAW support, Proxy workflows are also supported. This was a highly requested feature from content creators that collaborate with editors, directors and clients.

Pricing

When you sign up for a free account at alteon.io, you get to use the service with 10GB of included storage. If you need more storage, you can pay $12 per month for 250GB of storage.

You will always have access to the iPhone app and NLE integrations, no matter if you are using a free or paid account. There is no difference for the user in terms of feature access or functionality. The only difference is the amount of storage.
