Cinemartin is Closing its Gates Due to Bankruptcy

Cinemartin, the company that is known for selling modestly priced monitors and that now was attempting to enter the cinema camera market with their upcoming Fran 8K camera has just released the following message on Facebook: (Below is the original message, no adjustments were made)

Bad news, we are about to close due to bankrupt. Our tie mother company leaves us with no other option. End of Cinemartin probably by 1 April, the joke day, but our end as a filmmaking company. Thank you for all your efforts and grattittude. Soon we will make the public annoumcement

For some it might be bad news, others saw it coming, but in any case, declaring bankruptcy is never a pleasant thing, in most cases it is sad to see a company closing down. We truly hope that people can still get their money back (In case of pre-ordering Fran 8K camera), or, according to the information we have, not all monitors were supplied yet.

Screenshot by Philip Bloom who is currently reviewing the Fran 8K camera. Seems like Windows is the operating system running on that camera …

Thank you Ethan Shotz for pointing us to the source.

What do you think? Did you have any engagement with Cinemartin in the past or did you use any of their products? Please share with us your thoughts in the comment section below

Love Philips review, so much more patient than I could have been. It’s like the Fyre festival of cameras!

Why can’t you read Philip Bloom reply’s on the facebook comment section and only see them on the site comments? They were my favourite ?

They never listened to customers. I remember when they announced their first monitor and people were giving suggestion on features and they were calling everyone stupid and asking too much… here you go… karma is a bitch

At least they had an interface designer with a sense of humor.
On their website they should have added as a benefit “no need for instagram filters, bad color science on board”

A typical deposit on $40-50k car is about $500 for order. They’re asking $2k deposit for a $10K camera. Based on that observations, that’s more like a crowd funding and not “deposits”.

I wouldn’t say it’s a scam, it’s likely a bad business strategy.

actually it was ten percent. Not sure where you got the $10k camera price from…

Clearly you have an affiliation, even this comment is suspect. This was clearly a scam and they had no real intention to bring this to market. Whoever let a deposit honestly deserved it.

Who has an affiliation? Me? Are you serious? If so do yourself a favour and educate yourself before making comments like that. Start with watching my “review” of the camera!

The Website (company) was never trustworthy and it is a shame that this site (?) and other tech sites even do articles about the FRAN 8k Camera. Not trustworthy in term of no imprint information and other basics. Also bad history with monitors.

Not surprised especially after the owner was dissing a customer who wanted to return a bad monitor

Well this is a huge shock. Who’d have thought an 8k camcorder would require substantial expertise and resources to bring to market?
