edelkrone’s already impressive new slider system SliderPLUS gets an update worth talking about: A targeting module that smoothly tracks your subject. Read on to understand how it works.
We’ve visited the edelkrone booth here at NAB 2013 to see the SliderPLUS that they introduced late last year and what we found was another new upgrade concept for an already intriguing device.
The XL version of the basic SliderPLUS itself is a 3 feet camera slider that physically takes up a lot less space than travel distance due to an intelligent rail mechanism. A device made with portability in mind.
The upgrade for SliderPLUS they presented at NAB 2013 is basically an electronically controlled tripod head that automatically tracks and pans “around” a certain distance you can set. In the video above you can see how it works. It follows your movement of the slider and pans accordingly. A very intelligent system that can help you make smooth and very accurate slider/panning shots.
Kadir from edelkrone also mentioned several other modules they are working on: A travel motor and a friction system among other things.
The target module for SliderPLUS will cost way under $1000. There is no fixed pricing and release date yet, but we should see something in the near future.
The basic slider SliderPLUS XL costs $699, the smaller version is $499.More information on edelkrone.com
