FUJIFILM has announced Fujikina NYC 2026, a three-day photography and imaging celebration running October 16 to 18, marking the event’s return to the city for the first time in four years. For now the company has shared only the dates and the city, with a full program promised in the coming months and no X Summit currently attached.

Fujikina is FUJIFILM’s community-focused gathering, closer in spirit to a festival than a trade show, built around guest speakers, educators, photo exhibitions, photo walks, hands-on gear stations, and free check-and-clean services for X and GFX Series cameras. New York is one of the company’s largest markets, and the last time Fujikina was held there was back in 2022, which makes this a notable homecoming.

What FUJIFILM has confirmed so far

According to the “save the date” materials, Fujikina NYC 2026 runs over three days, October 16 to 18. The exact venue has not been announced, and beyond the dates and city, there is no published schedule of talks, workshops, or exhibitions. The company’s framing leans into the community angle: “This fall, we’re bringing our people together. Fujikina NYC 2026 is more than excitement, education, and engagement. It’s a celebration of what you love, with people who love it too.” Registration is expected to open before the event, and those who want early notice can sign up through FUJIFILM’s website.

Based on past events, Fujikina NYC is likely to be free to attend, though some elements such as master classes and photo walks have at times required separate tickets elsewhere. At Fujikina Copenhagen this year, participation carried a small one-time fee while individual master classes had to be booked on top of entry. Until the NYC program is published, the ticketing structure remains unconfirmed.

A busy spring of Fujikina events leads into the fall

The New York announcement arrives just after FUJIFILM wrapped two European Fujikina events: Copenhagen on May 9 and 10 at The Lab, and Warsaw on June 12 and 13. The Warsaw event alone featured 10 separate photo walks across both days, plus nearly as many master classes, alongside touch-and-try stations and the free check-and-clean service. Copenhagen offered a similar mix, including a Magnum Photos exhibition tied to the agency’s “A World in Color” archive project. Both were open to all photographers regardless of brand, a recurring theme since Fujikina launched in 2022 as a community-centered nod to the legendary Photokina expo.

Will there be an X Summit attached?

This is the question filmmakers will be asking, and nothing points to one yet. Fujikina and X Summit are distinct: X Summit is where FUJIFILM unveils new cameras and lenses, while Fujikina celebrates photographic culture. The two sometimes coincide, in which case a Fujikina often becomes the first chance to handle freshly announced gear, but more often they do not. Neither the Copenhagen nor the Warsaw event this year had a corresponding X Summit, and the same was true of FUJIFILM’s London and Cologne Fujikina events in 2025.

Based on what has been shared, there does not appear to be an X Summit tied to the New York event either. That said, October is historically busy for camera companies, and FUJIFILM has been unusually quiet through the first half of 2026 with no new X or GFX bodies announced yet, so the latter half of the year could be busier. There is plenty of room for the picture to change before October 16, so we would not rule anything out.

Why the New York return matters

For US-based photographers and filmmakers, a major Fujikina on home soil is a real opportunity: a chance to handle current bodies such as the X-E5, X half, GFX100RF, and GFX ETERNA 55 in person, learn from working professionals, and have aging gear cleaned and updated for free. With no Fujikina in New York since 2022, the four-year gap has felt conspicuous given the size of the market.
