Godox S60-Bi Compact Focusable LED Lights Released

Godox recently released a new version of its compact, lightweight, and focusable LED light: the Godox S60-Bi. As its name suggests, this new version is bi-color and can go from 2800° to 6500°K. In addition, at the back of this 77W fixture, you can adjust the beam angle of each light from 6 to 55 degrees. So let’s take a closer look at these new Godox fixtures!

A couple of months ago, Godox launched the Litemons LC30Bi, a compact 30W bi-color LED fixture at an aggressive $99 price point. Of course, the company has more powerful options, like their Godox Knowled M300Bi that we recently reviewed.

The company is now back with a new bi-color version of their famous Godox S60 that was released last year: the Godox S60-Bi.

Godox S60-Bi features

The Godox S60-Bi has a lot in common with the daylight-only version. First, the size and weight are pretty identical: the light head measures only 26.4×10.7x10cm for a weight of 1.36Kg.

All the controls and powering options are not built-in to the light head. Indeed, the Godox S60-Bi has a ballast that can be powered via AC or V-Mount batteries. Furthermore, the ballast is compatible with the Godox Light app for remote control and the optional RC-A6 remote controller. Lastly, it has a 5-pin DMX input port.

Light quality

You can focus the light beam of the S60-Bi from 6 to 55 degrees via a knob at the back of the fixture. The S60-Bi draws 77W of power (17W more than the daylight-only version), but it gives you the same lighting output, according to Godox.

You can expect around 3,200 Lux at 1 meter in flood mode and 40.000 Lux when spotted, which is relatively good. Of course, you can dim the fixture from 0 to 100%, and Godox claims it has a CRI of 96 and a TLCI of 97.

Like most modern LED fixtures, the Godox S60-Bi has several built-in effects, including flash, storm, television, and broken bulb.

Lighting modifiers

The Godox S60 series does not feature a “standard” Bowens mount attachment for lighting modifiers. However, you can attach the optional Godox projection attachment to it, which is also compatible with the S30. Furthermore, it seems that you can attach the Dedolight projection attachment in front of the Godox S60 if you already have one.

Price and availability

The Godox S60-Bi is available now for $459. You’ll find the light head, ballast, a barndoor set, power/connect cables, and a wrench in the box. The carrying case for the S60 series is optional. I found the price a bit high, especially considering the Aputure LS 60x is $419.
