Insta360 Invisible Dive Kit for X3 Camera Introduced

Insta360 has recently announced the release of an Invisible Dive Kit for its X3 360° degree camera. The new dive kit claims to eliminate the dreaded “nadir” section at the bottom of the captured footage by deleting the selfie stick as well as the case completely from the picture. This has been a problem for many surround cameras in the past, but Insta360 claims to have solved this issue.

Released in September last year, the Insta360 X3 camera shoots 5.7K 360 videos and 72MP photos with dual 48MP 1/2″ sensors. One of the main features of Insta360’s cameras is the ability to re-frame footage in post-production.

Users can then choose which part of the captured footage to use in their videos, and can also choose any angle. This is especially useful for underwater footage where interesting objects can appear from anywhere at any time. Before continuing, make sure to check out Insta360’s promotional video of the new Invisible Dive Kit below.

Insta360 X3 Invisible Dive Kit – features

The Invisible Dive Kit includes an Insta360 X3 camera, the actual Dive Case (also sold separately), a Floating Hand Grip, a 114cm Invisible Selfie Stick as well as a lens cap. The X3 camera is already waterproof up to 10m/33ft. However, with the new IPX8 waterproof case, you can reach depths of up to 50m/164ft, which should be enough for most diving or snorkeling adventures.

The camera can be operated underwater with two buttons using a newly-implemented Dive Case mode. Moreover, divers can pair the 360° camera with the selfie stick to film themselves, while giving the impression that the camera is floating in front of them.

Stabilization and AI

The underwater footage can be further improved by relying on the in-camera Flow State Stabilization as well as 360° Horizon Lock. Additionally, using the AI features offered by the free Insta360 app, such as Deep Track 2.0 for object tracking, it is easy to quickly create engaging content for social media.
