Meike Mini Prime Cine Lens Set for RF Mount Released – Includes New 10mm T2.2

Meike has just released a new mount option for their Mini Prime Cine Lens Set: Canon RF. This T2.2 series, already available for MFT, Sony E, and FUJIFILM X Mount cameras, now also includes a new focal length, the Meike Mini Prime 10mm T2.2. Let’s take a closer look.

Meike is famous for producing good-quality glass at a very competitive price. In the last few years, the company has been expanding their S35 and full-frame offering of Cinema prime lenses with a series of product releases. Among the latest additions, we can find the Meike S35 25mm T2.1 and 105mm T2.1 Full-Frame lenses that were introduced last month.

The Chinese manufacturer is back with a new announcement. Indeed, they have just unveiled a new RF Mount version of their Mini Prime Cine Lens Set, which now includes a brand new 10mm T2.2 wide-angle lens that is also available for MFT, Sony E, and FUJIFILM X Mount systems.

Meike Mini Prime Cine Lens Set now for RF Mount

The new Meike Mini Prime Cine Lens Set for RF Mount consists of five fast T2.2 focal lengths: 10mm, 35mm, 50mm, 65mm, and 85mm. Moreover, a new 25mm model should join the family in September. MFT, Sony E, and FUJIFILM X Mount versions of this series are also available.

All focal lengths are designed for use with S35/APS-C sensors. Moreover, they share the same maximum transmission of T2.2, which is helpful to bring more light to crop sensors. That means that this new RF Mount set can be a great option for RED KOMODO and Canon C70 users looking to own a small cinema prime series in-house.

This new RF mount cine lens set also brings a fresh fast wide-angle lens to the Meike Mini Prime series – the 10mm T2.2. This glass offers a 106.4° FOV on APS-C cameras and is also available in MFT, Sony E, and FUJIFILM X mount options.

Its optical design features 15 elements in 12 groups. The fast T2.2 aperture is ideal for low-light scenarios and should provide a nice subject/background separation. The round bokeh of this lens should be pretty smooth, thanks to the 10-blade diaphragm design. Moreover, the close focus distance of 0.3m will allow users to produce interesting wide-angle close-ups of their subjects.

The Meike Mini Prime 10mm T2.2 Cine Lens is quite a lightweight and compact all-metal construction. Indeed, the MFT version of this glass measures φ80×88.0mm in size and weighs approximately 600g. The lens accepts 77mm filters via its front filter thread, has a long 270° focus throw, and displays focus distance in both metric and imperial units.
