A new EU-based company built by working professionals launches today to support productions, rental houses, and crews with DIT and Video Assist solutions, workflow consulting, distribution of handpicked brands, and training across Europe and the Middle East.

MOBY TEC GmbH is officially launching this week from Vienna, Austria, with a clear focus on bridging the gap between high-end production workflows and the practical realities of daily on-set operation. The company is founded by a team of seasoned industry professionals who bring decades of combined experience in cinematography, technical sales, and on-set work.

A team with deep industry roots

MOBY TEC is founded by Christian Saure, Gregor Franz, and Vojtech Pokorny, with Kitty Scharinger joining as Head of Technical Sales. Christian Saure has worked as a DIT on commercials and large-scale international productions for over 15 years, while also teaching at media schools and universities. He previously handled complex technical consulting projects at Cine Brands Munich.

Vojtech Pokorny brings an extensive background spanning both creative and commercial roles. After studying cinematography at the German Film and Television Academy Berlin and working as a DP, his previous positions include Technical Sales Specialist at Band Pro and Cine Brands Munich, VP Sales (EMEA) for Teradek, SmallHD, and Wooden Camera, as well as VP Sales at Sound Devices LLC.

Gregor Franz started in live event production and broadcast before focusing on set work as a DIT, Video Operator, and Steadicam operator. Kitty Scharinger works as a video operator with deep expertise in monitoring and video transmission, bringing years of experience in technical sales and support.

Both Kitty Scharinger and Christian Saure were recognized for their contribution to SmallHD’s Emmy-winning Achievement in Engineering, Science and Technology for the SmallHD monitor platform at the 75th Engineering Emmy Awards in 2023.

Practical focus on production workflows

MOBY TEC positions itself as production-driven, advising on complex setups that connect departments and streamline on-set operation. Core areas of expertise include DIT and Video Assist solutions, monitoring, video transmission, data and media workflows, and integrated technical planning. The team also supports projects that intersect live, broadcast, and cine technologies.

The company already held its first workshop at its new Vienna facilities, focused on Pomfort REELTIME and the DIT Box by Upgrade Innovations. Further hands-on training sessions will be held regularly at headquarters.

Since CineD HQ and MOBY TEC are in the same city, we will strive to cooperate on educational efforts to also make them available to an international audience.

MOBY TEC operates in the production triangle of Vienna, Berlin, and Prague, with local presence in all three cities. The team works in German, English, and Czech, serving clients across Europe and the Middle East. Combined experience across the company spans 35 years in commercial roles, 40 years on set, 200 international trade shows, and 10 years of teaching.
