The Moondog Labs multi-camera filter mount is a simple, affordable way to mount threaded filters on the iPhone 11, 11 Pro, and 11 Pro Max.
For a long time, there hasn’t been an easy way to mount filters on the iPhone 11 models. That’s changed in the past few weeks with a number of different solutions being launched. My favorite is the Moondog Labs multi-camera filter mount.
I’ve been using the mount for a few weeks, and it’s so simple, there’s actually not an awful lot to write about. That’s exactly what makes it so good.
The Moondog Labs Multi-Camera Filter Mount
The whole point of shooting video with a phone is speed and simplicity. Of course, sometimes there are reasons to add a cage, lenses, and other accessories but the one thing I always want even when the phone is stripped down to a minimum is an ND or VND filter. The Moondog Labs Multi-Camera Filter Mount is a super lightweight machined aluminum adapter plate with a bayonet mount on the backside, and a 52mm filter thread mount on the front. The adapter has carefully machined ports that accommodate all three cameras on the iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max.
The filter mount is compatible with any bayonet mount case, such as those from Moment, Rhinoshield and Sirui. Any 52mm filters can be threaded directly onto the filter mount, or larger filters by using step-up rings. It covers the full field of view of all three cameras including the ultra-wide camera without vignetting.
- Non-proprietary mount
- Simple to use
- None that I can think of right now!
