Finally! They’re here! Highspeed cameras for the low budget filmmaker are appearing.
This one is really unique and most people pass their booth without noticing what this camera can actually do for you.

Up until now, if you wanted a highspeed camera u could either spend 100k or you could rent one but had to get a technician with it, which is very expensive. I’ve looked for an affordable highspeed solution for a long time but 300 frames at resolutions like 512×384 pixels is one of the best numbers you will find.

Finally here’s a camera that can give us 720p and 850fps (!!!) highspeed recording. Chip is one inch, which is about the size of a 35mm film chip. No technician needed. The camera is available now.

UPDATE April 13th: Some of you posted that you had issues with my use of the term “affordable”. Well, you’re right that most of us (including myself!) can’t afford to buy a $16k camera. What I really meant was that renting a camera like this coulb be about $90 a day, which in my terms of filmmaking is highly affordable to get those 2 days of slomo shots for your feature, as opposed to the $1,5-2k a day for the phantom.
