The FM Mount Projection Attachment 18°-36° (PJ-FMM-18-36) is an optic developed specifically for NANLITE FM mount LED spotlights. It enables gaffers and cinematographers to position a clear and uniform beam precisely where desired. This projection attachment offers an 18° to 36° zoom range, edge control, and an enhancement in the fixture’s illuminance. Let’s take a closer look.
The optical design employs aspherical glass to achieve sharp edges and consistent illumination throughout the zoom range. The aspherical optic minimises aberrations, resulting in 97% beam uniformity and 96% CCT accuracy, with a 3% distortion (measured at 18° beam angle). The lens coating optimises light transmission and aids in colour accuracy, minimising colour shift. The matte black inner barrel minimises internal reflections and stray light, resulting in a sharper beam. Precision beam adjustment is facilitated by a zoom ring. The projection attachment features its own yoke for balance and stability when combined with a fixture, allowing for a significant downward tilt. Each component of the design is tailored to suit a diverse range of professional lighting applications.
The FM Mount Projection Attachment 18°-36° concentrates the beam, augmenting the fixture’s illuminance by up to 21 times. It is compatible with FM mount COB fixtures.
In comparison to conventional fixed-angle projection lenses, the FM Mount Projection Attachment 18°-36° provides enhanced flexibility and creative control. The adjustable beam angle enables users to precisely adjust the size and focus of the light without the need to swap lenses, thereby saving time and effort on set. The lens barrel supports 360° rotation, facilitating the easy rotation of gobo projections or shutter cuts.
The housing is predominantly constructed from an aluminium alloy with nylon components, ensuring its suitability for long-term use on set. The yoke facilitates a significant downward tilt of the fixture, enabling its mounting on stands equipped with either a junior receiver or a baby pin.
The integrated shutters define the lighting area, while the gel frame slot facilitates effortless gel insertion. The kit includes a proprietary-sized gobo holder and four gobos, complemented by a universal M-size gobo holder for enhanced compatibility. Similar to the existing FM Mount Projection Attachment with 10°/19°/36° Lens (PJ-FMM-10/19/36), it is compatible with the optional 18-blade iris diaphragm (PJ-FMM-AI).
A padded carrying bag with protective lining is included. It securely accommodates the projection attachment and provides shock protection during transportation.
