NANLUX has launched the FE30 and BE55 Parallel Beam Reflectors, expanding its light shaping accessory lineup. The FE30 supports FE and FM mount fixtures with a 30cm diameter and 1.38kg weight, while the larger BE55 accommodates BE and Bowens mount fixtures up to 800W with a 55cm diameter and 5.56kg weight. Both feature an 8° beam angle, IP66 weatherproofing, integrated grid and snoot design, and deliver significant output gains: the FE30 provides approximately 12x brightness increase when paired with the Evoke 150C, while the BE55 achieves roughly 23x output boost with the Evoke 600C.
The parallel beam reflectors address a specific lighting challenge: achieving concentrated, high-intensity illumination in confined spaces or when extended throw distance is required. By converting divergent light into near-parallel beams, these modifiers boost efficiency while maintaining natural-looking quality.
The 8° beam angle produces tightly focused illumination with minimal dispersion. When combined with NANLUX’s Evoke series fixtures, the output gains are substantial. The FE30 paired with an Evoke 150C delivers approximately 12.1 times the output of bare light at 5600K measured at 3 meters. The BE55 with an Evoke 600C achieves about 23.4 times greater output at 5600K measured at 5 meters.
This concentrated beam pattern compensates for inverse square law falloff, allowing fixtures to be positioned further from subjects while maintaining sufficient illumination levels. The focused output suits detail work, accent lighting, and scenarios where fixtures must remain outside the immediate staging area.
Both reflectors use lightweight construction for easier handling during rigging and repositioning. The FE30 measures approximately 30cm or 11.81 inches in diameter with a weight of just 1.38kg or 3.04 pounds. The BE55 measures approximately 55cm or 21.65 inches in diameter and weighs 5.56kg or 12.26 pounds. According to NANLUX, the reduced weight allows for one-handed operation and lessens operator fatigue during extended setup periods.
The FE30 accommodates FE mount and FM mount fixtures, while the BE55 supports BE mount and Bowens mount fixtures up to 800W. Note that the BE55 is not compatible with Forza 720 or 720B models.
NANLUX has integrated an internal grid and external snoot to minimize light spill and optimize beam quality. The snoot comes pre-installed in an all-in-one design requiring no assembly. This helps maintain controlled illumination without unwanted spread into areas outside the intended target zone.
A transparent optical cover at the front protects the reflector internals from environmental contaminants. This cover prevents dust and insects from entering the reflector cavity, which could otherwise degrade optical performance over time.
Both reflectors carry an IP66 rating for dust and water resistance. This weatherproofing supports reliable operation in outdoor environments or locations with challenging environmental conditions. The IP66 specification indicates complete dust ingress protection and resistance to powerful water jets from any direction.
The FE30 Parallel Beam Reflector retails for $225 USD, while the BE55 Parallel Beam Reflector costs $665 USD, both prices excluding local taxes. According to NANLUX, both reflectors are shipping now – more details on their website. The products are currently being displayed at InterBEE during November 2025.
These parallel beam reflectors target gaffers and cinematographers working in space-constrained environments or requiring extended throw distances. The significant output multipliers and weatherproof construction address specific production lighting scenarios, though real-world performance verification remains pending. Have you found parallel beam modifiers effective for your lighting setups? What mount compatibility matters most for your fixture inventory?
