Nikon has published a free βRWG/Log3G10 to Rec.2020/N-Logβ LUT to streamline grading of N-RAW clips recorded in N-Log tone mode when opened in Adobe Premiere Pro (Beta), which currently interprets those files in RED Wide Gamut with Log3G10.
If you are cutting Nikon N-RAW in Premiere Pro and want to preview or grade in a familiar Nikon color space without building a custom transform, this utility fills the gap. Nikon states that the LUT is intended for workflows where N-RAW in N-Log is opened with RWG/Log3G10 primaries and gamma, and it is not a tool for converting RED R3D footage.
The LUT converts from RWG/Log3G10 to Rec.2020/N-Log, matching Nikonβs N-Log look within a Rec.2020 container. It targets the current behavior in Premiere Pro (Beta), where N-RAW clips in N-Log are treated as RWG/Log3G10 on import. This keeps monitoring and first-pass grading consistent with Nikonβs intent for N-Log material.
Nikon provides two .cube variants, a 65-point version (recommended) and a 33-point fallback for systems that do not support 65-point LUTs. Nikon lists macOS Ventura 13, Sonoma 14, and Sequoia 15, and Windows 11 as supported. The company notes testing with Adobe Premiere Pro (Beta) at the time of release and specifies that the LUT is for cameras capable of N-RAW recording, for example the new Nikon ZR that we just covered in a Lab Test.
If you are delivering in Rec.709, you can still use this as an intermediate monitoring transform, then add a subsequent Rec.2020-to-Rec.709 conversion, or switch to a dedicated Nikon N-Log to Rec.709 pipeline later in the grade. If your system struggles with 65-point LUTs, the 33-point variant offers a lighter alternative at the expense of some precision, which is often acceptable during offline edits. For many small post teams, the free LUT is an easy quality-of-life upgrade while Adobeβs native color management for N-RAW in N-Log evolves.
The RWG/Log3G10 to Rec.2020/N-Log LUT is available now as version 1.00 from Nikonβs Download Center.Β Β
In your grading stack, will this live as a temporary monitor LUT during edit, or will you keep it as your baseline transform all the way through delivery?
