SIRUI SVH15 Video Fluid Head Announced – First Look

SIRUI has announced the new SVH15 Video Fluid Head. It is designed for a 75mm half bowl, has a weight of 3.6kg/7.7lbs, supports a payload of 15kg/33lbs, and is clearly developed for bigger and heavier cine-style cameras. So far, we don’t have any information about the price, but shipping should start in June. Let’s have a closer look at the new video head.

You probably know SIRUI primarily for their anamorphic lenses like the Saturn 35mm T2.9 1.6x, one of the most compact anamorphic full-frame lenses ever made. But they also produce a wide range of tripods, ball heads, fluid video heads, and camera cages as well. Just recently, they released the Panasonic LUMIX S5II camera cage and a cage for Sony FX3/FX30 cameras.

SIRUI SVH15 Video Fluid Head – features

Clearly designed for professional video applications with larger cameras, this oil fluid video head is made of aluminum and just the tripod head alone weighs 3.6kg/7.7lbs. The SIRUI SVH15 Video Fluid Head attaches to a 75mm half-ball mount for use on any compatible tripod, or other accessories such as sliders or jib arms. A 100mm version should be released soon.

The counterbalance of your camera rig can be incrementally adjusted with 1-7 stepless options, up to a capacity of 15kg/33lbs depending on the weight of your rig. It has a quick-release sideload 501 camera plate with a sliding balance range of 60cm/23,6in. The tilt movement has a range of positive 90° to negative 70°, also with incremental 1-9 stepless adjustments.

The camera’s friction adjustment can be applied in 1-9 steps depending on personal needs while operating it. The SVH15 comes with two pan handles and is controlled with dual rosettes mounted left and right of the head. SIRUI claims they are using a special oil inside the head so you can operate it even in low temperatures: -30° to 60°C / -22° to 140°F.
