SHAPE SVT10K Introduced – 75mm Bowl Fluid Head 3-Stage Video Tripod

SHAPE SVT10K Introduced – 75mm Bowl Fluid Head 3-Stage Video Tripod

The SHAPE SVT10K is an affordable 3-stage tripod system with a 75mm bowl fluid head for filmmakers on the go. Designed to handle mid-range to fully built-out cameras, it should offer steady support when you need to add extra accessories to your rig. Let’s see what the SHAPE SVT10K is all about!

Good tripods are rarely built to cover a wide range of camera setups. It’s easy to find cheap ones that can support a simple video camera, but hardly ever is that same tripod capable of safely supporting the camera just with a heavier lens. Personally, I have 3 different tripods for this very reason.

The SHAPE SVT10K is advertised as an all-in-one tripod system for all of your rigs. Whether you’re shooting light with a barebones mirrorless camera or building your camera out for a cinematic shoot, this tripod promises to keep your shots steady. Let’s take a closer look.

SHAPE SVT10K video tripod: overview

As the name suggests, the SHAPE SVT10K is a video tripod that can support a camera rig weighing up to 10kg (22lbs). The 75mm half ball head allows you to quickly level the head without having to readjust the legs. The tripod legs are individually adjustable and feature a mid-level spreader for stability. The minimum height of the tripod and head is just over 30 inches for low-angle shots, and the maximum height is 70 inches.

The SHAPE SVT10K looks to be aimed at those filmmakers who are constantly back and forth between lightweight, on-the-go shoots and setups with long takes that require a bit more precision.

The head includes a 500PLONG sliding quick release plate which has both a 1/4″-20 and 3/8″-16 camera screws. One panhandle is also included with the head. It can be installed on one of the two mounting rosettes, one on each side of the head for left or right-handed operation. Two Easy Link connectors (1/4″-20 and 3/8″-16) allow you to mount accessories directly to the head, and not the camera.

Competition

The competition for the SHAPE SVT10K is pretty steep. Similar offerings from companies like SIRUI, CAME-TV, and miliboo have created a very saturated marketplace. They’re all similarly priced and share a lot of the same features, so it is important to do some research before deciding which one’s the best system for you.

Personally, I trust SHAPE as a brand and have been using their products for most of my professional career. Their SHAPE Full Play Batteries have been powering my cameras for years. Moreover, their products and accessories, including the new SVT10k, are covered by a manufacturer’s warranty on CNC machined parts.
