Terms & Conditions: CineD Best of Show Awards – NAB 2024

Promoter: cinema5D GmbH (CineD) Kranzgasse 22 / 9-10, 1150 Vienna, Austria

1. You have to be at least 18 years of age to be eligible to enter and win. Companies and manufacturers from all countries are eligible to enter and win.

2. Eligibility: CineD Best of Show Awards – NAB 2024 (the “Submission”) is only open to companies exhibiting at the 2024 NAB Show and if their product/technology is available for delivery in calendar year 2024. Those who sign up and submit their application via ZEALOUS (Click here), will be considered in the judging. The Submission is open worldwide and is void where prohibited by law. Employees, independent contractors, interns, officers, directors, and agents of CineD (the “Promoter”) their respective affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising and promotion agencies, suppliers, and their immediate family members and/or those living in the same household of each are not eligible to participate in the Initiative. The Initiative is subject to all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Void where prohibited.

3. To participate in this Submission, entrants must apply via the link given, and pay a nomination fee of €99 (USD 107.75) per product or technology. Payment must be done via this link. ONLY paid submissions can be considered.

4.  This is an independently judged awards program recognizing product innovation. The judges will be team members from CineD (the Promoter).

5. You will need an internet connection and access the Promoter’s application link. No refund may be claimed for expenses incurred in participating in the promotion, including in relation to the use of the Internet.

6. Application Period: Applications can be handed in from March 20th, 05:00 PST to April 12th, 23:59 PST. No applications will be accepted after this time. Promoter accepts no liability for any applications lost, delayed, or damaged in transmission.

7. How to Apply: The entrant must fulfill all requirements as specified for the judges to fully understand your product, and to be eligible to win. Hence, you need to submit your application and pay the submission fee. Applications that are incomplete or do not adhere to the rules or specifications of the Initiative may be disqualified at the sole discretion of the Promoter. You must provide the information requested. If you use fraudulent methods or otherwise attempt to circumvent the rules of the Initiative, your submission may be disqualified at the sole discretion of the Promoter.

8. Categories: There will be seven (7) categories

  • Cameras
  • Camera Support, Control, and Accessories
  • Audio Equipment
  • Lighting Equipment
  • Lenses
  • AI Innovation
  • Streaming, Remote Production & Cloud Workflows

For each category, there will be one (1) CineD – Best of Show Award for NAB 2024.

9. Entrants may submit forms for as many different products as they like, in as many categories as they choose. Each entry covers 1 product in 1 category.

10. Professional-quality, high-resolution images must be uploaded in the submission form. By submitting the images, you are granting the Promoter the right to publish them free of charge. Any copyright owner or photographer’s fees/usage rights are the responsibility of the submitter.

11. Unannounced Products: If the entrant wishes to enter one or more products that have not been released or announced before NAB Show 2024 commences, or any date from the time the competition submission period starts and until the submission period ends, CineD will enter a non-disclosure agreement with the entrant before submission of the product into the competition. In this case, the entrant should send their NDA form to jackie[at]cined.com and CineD will reply with a signed copy as soon as possible. After that, the product can be entered into the competition using the form linked above.

12. Award: The winners of the Submission (the “winners”) will receive the following prize:

• One (1) Best of Show Award Trophy

Actual/appraised value of prizes may differ at time of prize award. The specifics of the prize shall be solely determined by the Promoter. No cash or other prize substitution shall be permitted except at the Promotor’s discretion. The prize is nontransferable. Substitution of the prize or transfer/assignment of the prize to others or request for the cash equivalent of the prize by the winner is not permitted. Any and all prize-related expenses, including without limitation any and all federal, state, and/or local taxes shall be the sole responsibility of the winner. Acceptance of the prize constitutes permission for the Promoter to use the winner’s name, likeness, and application for purposes of advertising and trade without further compensation unless prohibited by law.

In the event of a prize becoming unavailable, for whatever reason, the Promoter reserves the right to provide an alternative prize of similar or equivalent value. The awards will be personally handed over by CineD at the 2024 NAB Show. In case the person who entered the submission is not present, CineD will hand the award to another representative of the company (documented by photo and by name).

13. The CineD jury exists of CineD team members who will work at their sole discretion. The judges’ decision will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.

14. The seven winners will be announced on CineD.com, as well as on CineD’s social media channels no later than April 17th, 2024.

15. The Promoter reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to disqualify and remove any submission that does not comply with these terms and conditions, even after a submission is submitted. The Promoter also reserves the right to change the judging rules above at any time at its sole discretion, in which case all entrants will be notified via email.

16. The Promoter also reserves the right to nominate products that were not entered via the form in any category. Entering a product via the form, however, guarantees consideration for the Award.

17. You warrant and represent that, in respect of your submission:

a) you are the sole owner or company representative and own all rights to the text, images, and footage;

b) it does not contain any infringing, threatening, false, misleading, abusive, harassing, libelous, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, scandalous, inflammatory, pornographic or profane content;

c) it does not infringe upon the copyrights, trademarks, contract rights, or any other intellectual property rights of any third person or entity, or violate any person’s rights of privacy or publicity, and does not include trademarks owned by third parties; copyrighted materials owned by third parties; names, likenesses, voices or other characteristics identifying celebrities or other public figures, living or dead;

18. The Promoter reserves the right to remove and disqualify submissions that contain commercial content in conflict with the interests of the Promoter.

19. By entering this Initiative you hereby grant the Promoter a non-exclusive worldwide royalty-free license to use, copy, modify, or alter any materials submitted in connection with the Initiative.

20. The Promoter assumes no responsibility for any incorrect, inaccurate, or incomplete information, whether caused by website users or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the Initiative and the Promoter assumes no responsibility for technical, hardware or software failure of any kind, for lost network connections, garbled computer transmissions, other problems or technical malfunctions with regard to the Initiative.

21. The Promoter assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, corruption, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to or alteration of entries.

22. The Promoter is not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer online systems, servers, computer equipment, software, human error or traffic congestion on the internet or any website, or any combination thereof, including any injury or damage to your or any other person’s computer related to or resulting from participation or downloading any materials in the Initiative.

23. If for any reason a submission cannot be viewed or is not capable of opening as planned, including infection by computer viruses, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, or technical failures, the Promoter assumes no responsibility.

24. There are no cash or credit alternatives available.

25. The winner agrees to participate in related publicity and to the use of their names and likenesses and the winning images for the purposes of advertising, promotion, and publicity across the world.

26. By entering the Submission, you agree and acknowledge that the Promoter is permitted to receive your registration data. All personal information will be used by the Promoter in accordance with its Privacy Policy.

27. The Submission is managed under the control of cinema5D GmbH (CineD). The rules are governed by the laws of Austria. By entering this Initiative you agree to submit to the laws of Austria in respect to the operation of the Initiative regardless of your country of residence.

28. This Promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed, or administered by, or associated with Facebook, Instagram, or YouTube.

29. By entering the Submission you hereby accept these terms and conditions, which are subject to change at any time.
