Tilta DJI Transmission Accessories Released - Handles, Battery Plates and More

Tilta has just introduced a new lineup of accessories dedicated to the DJI transmission system with battery plates, support handles, and rigging accessories. The compact V-Mount/Gold Mount battery plates for the DJI High-Bright remote monitor and video transmitter will give you much longer run times compared to DJI WB37 and Sony NP-F style batteries. So let’s take a closer look at this new ecosystem!

The DJI Transmission is an independent wireless video system released in June 2022. This wireless video system consists of a video transmitter and a high-bright 7″ monitor with a built-in receiver. The DJI Transmission has a 6Km/20.000ft range with a claimed latency of only 68ms. If you’re doing the maths at 25 frames per second, the latency is only around 1.7 frames. Of course, it’s not zero-latency like Teradek’s wireless video systems, but the DJI Transmission is also more affordable at $2.499/€1.840 for the Combo kit.

The DJI Transmission system is powered either by DJI WB37 batteries or Sony NP-F style batteries with the included battery plates. In addition, of course, you can power both the monitor and transmitter externally via a DC to P-tap power cable. Tilta has released battery plates, support handles, and rigging accessories for the DJI Transmission to make your life easier.

Tilta DJI Transmission transmitter battery plates

Let’s start with the Tilta battery plates for the DJI Transmission transmitter. The plates are made of aluminum and steel and weigh only 0.88 lbs/400g. Available in both V-Mount and Gold Mount versions, the set consists of two battery plates that attach to the front and back of the transmitter.

The Tilta battery plates follow the shape of the DJI Transmission transmitter and do not protrude from the unit.

The Tilta DJI Transmission battery plates for the transmitter feature power pass-through. This means you can attach the DJI transmitter to your camera/rig’s battery plate and put just one battery at the back of the transmitter to power everything cable-free.

DJI High-Bright monitor battery plates

Next are the V-Mount/Gold mount battery plates for the DJI High-Bright 7″ monitor. They are entirely made of aluminum and stainless steel and add 0.93lbs/420g to your DJI High-Bright monitor.

The Tilta battery plate inserts in the DJI High-Bright’s battery slot and is secured via 1/4″-20 screws.

You can slightly adjust the battery plate’s position horizontally – 3.2cm up or down – and they do not block the optional DJI Remote Monitor expansion module.

Tilta DJI Transmission support handles

Tilta also released support handles for the DJI Transmission High-Bright receiver/monitor. The Support Handles weigh 169g and you can attach them to the left and right side of the monitor via 1/4″-20 screws. Then, your DJI High-Bright monitor transforms into a director’s monitor, which is much more comfortable to handle for extended periods of time.

Furthermore, the Support Handles can unfold 90°, so you can adequately lay the monitor on a table (or on the ground if you’re not afraid someone will step on it, which I don’t recommend).

If you want to go with something a little more “fancy” for your DJI High-Bright monitor, you can pick the Advanced side wooden handle type IX. Also, these wooden handles are compatible with the Ronin 4D.

The Advanced side wooden handle type IX comes with quick-release side attachments. You’ll find a release button on the quick-release attachments to adjust the handle’s angle to your desired needs.

Rigging accessories

Lastly, Tilta released a Mini articulating arm and DJI Transmission transmitter mounting bracket for the Sony FX6.

The mounting bracket for the Sony FX6 is pretty straightforward: it’s an L-shaped 90° piece of metal with two 1/4″-20 screws. In addition, the bracket has two locating pins on the camera side to prevent it from spinning.

The Tilta mini articulating arm is a more “universal” product and not specifically designed for the DJI Transmission system. The arm is made of aluminum and stainless steel and weighs only 150g/0.33lbs. It has dimensions of 3 x 3.5 x 3in/7.6 x 8.9 x 7.6cm with a maximum payload capacity of 4.5kg/9.9lbs.

This adjustable arm features 1/4″-20 mounting points with locating pins on both ends. These locating pins will prevent a monitor from spinning and becoming loose. For example, this feature will be helpful if you’re using SmallHD monitors.

With this kind of articulating arm, the large green locking knob releases both joints simultaneously, so be cautious.

However, Tilta plans to release other ball joints with different mounting terminals: cold shoe, NATO clamp, rosette mount, etc.
