Tilta has just released their cage and rigging options for the compact, retro-looking FUJIFILM X-M5. This L-shaped cage, entirely made out of aluminum, adds an Arca-Swiss baseplate, a genuine leather strap attachment, and a hot shoe thumb grip to your camera. So, let’s take a closer look at it!

The FUJIFILM X-M5 was released in October 2024 and is a nice-looking hybrid mirrorless camera with retro vibes. Despite being compact and lightweight, the X-M5 can capture footage internally in up to 6.2K (6240 x 4160), open gate, 25/30P 10-bit 4:2:2, and a maximum bitrate of 200Mbps. In Full HD, the X-M5 can record at up to 240fps, which is quite impressive. Also, if you want to get the best out of it, you can even record externally in Blackmagic and ProRes RAW via the HDMI output port.

Accessorizing a compact camera can sometimes defeat its purpose. Tilta has just created a couple of accessories for the FUJIFILM X-M5 to extend and improve the camera’s usability while keeping it lightweight.

Tilta FUJIFILM X-M5 Cage – features

The main component of the Tilta FUJIFILM X-M5 cage is the L-bracket that attaches to the bottom of the camera. This baseplate features a built-in walnut wood handgrip. The entire cage system is entirely made of aluminum—except for the wooden handgrip, obviously—and weighs only 0.22 lbs/100g.

An Arca-Swiss quick-release plate is at the bottom of the baseplate, which doesn’t obstruct the battery door compartment.

The kit also includes a vintage-looking hot shoe thumb grip that should improve camera handling and long-term comfort when shooting. Last but not least, it includes two genuine leather strap attachments to add style and convenience when using a camera strap.

Price and availability

The Tilta camera cage kit for the FUJIFILM X-M5 is available now for $49. The kit ships in a vintage metal gift box, which can be repurposed for storage. Individual components are also available for purchase separately.
