Vimeo Updates Video Review Functions, Improved Monetization, Agentic AI and Immersive Formats

Vimeo used its second REFRAME conference to unveil a major platform evolution for professional video: agentic video search across entire libraries, a rebuilt Vimeo Review for client feedback, expanded streaming analytics and monetization, plus upcoming support for Apple Immersive Video and VR-first workflows.Β Let’s dive into the latest Vimeo Updates.

Announced at their REFRAME conference in New York yesterday, Vimeo (which was recently acquired by Bending Spoons) positions these updates as a shift from simple hosting to actionable, searchable video knowledge bases that plug directly into AI agents and established post pipelines.

What’s new: AI that searches your whole library

Vimeo’s new AI aims to turn passive archives into interactive knowledge. β€œAsk Your Library” is now in beta, enabling natural-language queries across entire accounts, returning answers that understand both keywords and semantic context. For deeper automation, a new Vimeo MCP (Model Context Protocol) beta lets teams connect video libraries directly to LLMs and AI agents for custom workflows. To improve reach, β€œAnswer Engine Optimization” auto-generates rich metadata, titles, and chapters to boost discoverability across search and answer engines.

Vimeo updates Review function and tighter NLE integration

A rebuilt Vimeo Review, currently in closed beta with a broad release planned for November, centralizes client feedback with time-stamped comments and customizable review pages, all inside the platform where creators already host and share. Native Adobe Premiere Pro integration keeps approvals close to the timeline for fewer round-trips.Β This probably aims to be a tougher competitor for frame.io, which is a market leader in this segment.

Streaming, analytics, and monetization options

Vimeo Streaming adds new customization templates and enterprise-grade analytics powered by NPAW, the analytics provider used by platforms like Hulu and Pluto TV. Creators can layer in new revenue through ads and sponsorships, pairing audience insights with monetization routes that were previously more common on broadcast-scale services.

Immersive formats for Vision Pro audiences

Vimeo now supports hosting VR180, with Apple Immersive Video and Apple Projected Media Profile support slated for Q4. The pipeline maps to real-world pro tools: capture on Blackmagic URSA Cine Immersive cameras, cut in Final Cut Pro or DaVinci Resolve, then distribute directly via Vimeo to reach Apple Vision Pro viewers. For filmmakers exploring spatial narratives and premium headset experiences, this is a practical distribution path rather than a lab demo.

Could these Vimeo updates change how you manage feedback, find moments, and deliver immersive work to clients? Let us know in the comments.
