Vocas released the following new accessories for the RED V-RAPTOR: two side cage brackets, some wooden handgrips for the wing grips, and a PL/LPL adapter support. Let’s take a closer look at these accessories in case you want to create a lightweight V-RAPTOR rig!

Dutch manufacturer Vocas is well-known for making high-quality camera accessories like their recent LCD monitor support for the Sony FX6. The company has just launched some accessories for the RED V-RAPTOR that could be useful if you’re looking for lightweight rigging options.

Side cage kit for RED KOMODO and V-RAPTOR

Let’s start with the side cage kit that consists of two wing grips. This kit is compatible with the RED KOMODO and the latest V-RAPTOR.

The side cage brackets attach to both camera sides via the two M4 attachment points the camera provides. It gives you two 1/4″-20 and two 3/8″-16 threaded holes with ARRI locating pins and one ARRI rosette.

Vocas handgrip for RED V-RAPTOR

Once the two wing grips are attached to your camera, you can screw the two Vocas handgrips to your RED V-RAPTOR. The wooden handgrips attach via two 1/4″-20 screws and nicely wrap around the side cage brackets.

If you’re looking for a minimalistic handheld V-RAPTOR setup, these wooden attachments could be an excellent option!

PL and LPL adapter support

Lastly, Vocas launched a PL and LPL adapter support designed explicitly for the V-RAPTOR. This adapter support mounts directly to the front of the camera with four 1/4″-20 screws.

Once this very sturdy adapter support is in place, you can attach your Vocas Canon R-Mount to PL or LPL adapter to the camera. Next, firmly lock the four adapter support 1/4″-20 mounting screws. Then, tighten the red wingnut, and you have one of the strongest PL/LPL mount adapters available on the market.

The Vocas side cage kit for the RED KOMODO and V-RAPTOR is available now for $173/€149. The wooden handgrips will be available in May 2022 for €91.89. Last but not least, the PL and LPL adapter support is available now for €246.81.
