Zeiss

Zeiss has released yet another lens. This will be the fifth lens available in the Canon mount ZE line. To date the Zeiss 50mm T1.4 and Zeiss 85mm T1.4 were the only ZE lenses available to actually purchase from a retailer.

The Zeiss ZE 18mm T3.5, 21mm T2.8,  are nowhere to be had. I have the 50mm T1.4 and 85mm.T1.4. They are both great lenses. The manual focus really works well with the 5d and 7d. I find the full lens focus throw and hard stops, makes this lens cinema ready.

The Zeiss ZE design lenses are made by Cosina of Japan. The lens quality has been excellent so far and I expect that the newer lenses will be the same quality. The Zeiss ZE 28mm T2.0 is available now for purchase, retail $1080 US.

The Distagon T* 2/28 ZE will be available starting autumn for a suggested retail price of EUR 965.55 (excluding VAT)*.
