ZGCINE X Series V-Mount Batteries Announced - Larger IPS Screen and More

ZGCINE X series V-mount batteries come in three sizes – ZG-X50 with 52Wh, ZG-X99 with 99Wh, and ZG-X160 with 156Wh capacity (14.8V). They offer a large IPS display for monitoring current, voltage, total power, remaining time, temperature, and more. The two larger packs also feature 100W USB-C PD input and output. They are available now for $149, $219, and $279, respectively.

On top of traditional V-Mount battery packs, the Chinese battery manufacturer ZGCINE also introduces other powering solutions for creators, such as the ZGCINE ZG-H90 compact battery grip designed to be used with LED lights. The company also manufactures battery plates and charging cases for various types of batteries. Recently, ZGCINE introduced a new series of V-mount batteries with fast USB ports and some other interesting features. Let’s take a look at the new X series battery packs.

ZGCINE X series V-mount batteries

The new ZGCINE X series V-mount battery packs are available in three different capacities:

  • ZGCINE ZG-X50 with 52Wh capacity (14.8V), 3,500mAh
  • ZGCINE ZG-X99 with 99Wh capacity (14.8V), 7,000mAh
  • ZGCINE ZG-X160 with 156Wh capacity (14.8V), 10,500mAh

The batteries vary when it comes to physical dimensions, price, and features. Let’s take a look at what innovations these new battery packs bring when compared to the previous generation ZGCINE V series, which was launched in October 2022. There are a few, but the most notable ones in my opinion are these:

  • The status display is now larger and it displays more information. The new X series packs have a 1.3-inch IPS screen that displays the current, voltage, total power, remaining time, temperature, and more.
  • The combined in/out USB-C port now offers up to 100W (20V/5A) PD output (previously, the V series maxed out at 65W – 20V/3.25A). This only applies to the ZG-X99 and ZG-X160; the ZG-X50 maxes out at 45W.
  • The maximum current on D-Tap and BP output is now 15A (previously 13A).

According to ZGCINE, the new batteries also feature real-time detection for all the ports so the battery delivers the right current and voltage to any connected device.

Thanks to the 100W fast charging via USB-C, the ZG-X99 battery can be fully charged in 1.5 hours (the ZG-X160 in 2.5 hours) according to ZGCINE. For reference, when charging the battery pack through the BP pins, they only support up to 16.8V/3A, so roughly 50W. The smallest ZG-X50 will be fully charged in about 1.5 hours via the 45W USB-C port.

It is also important to mention that the two USB-C ports feature independent PD outputs without any speed reduction when used concurrently. The X series batteries feature a non-slip design and a glass panel over the display.
