Zhiyun has just announced a new palm-sized, foldable smartphone gimbal: the Zhiyun SMOOTH-XS. Available in two colors, this gimbal can take payloads of up to 235g/0.51lbs, which means it can support some of the most massive smartphones on the market, like the iPhone 11 Pro Max. Let’s take a closer look at it!
The Zhiyun SMOOTH-XS is a new smartphone gimbal that is part of the Zhiyun SMOOTH line of gimbals, like the SMOOTH-Q2 that was successfully launched on Kickstarter last year.
The SMOOTH-XS weighs only 246g/0.54lbs, it is foldable, and it fits in the palm of your hand – while having a maximum payload capacity of 235g/0.51lbs. The Zhiyun SMOOTH-XS should have no problem stabilizing heavy smartphones like the iPhone 11 Pro Max, for example.
The gimbal has a built-in battery with a maximum battery life of four hours, according to Zhiyun.
On the handle, there is a joystick to frame your shots, a menu button to switch between portrait and landscape mode, a record button, and a zoom rocker.
For selfie lovers, the SMOOTH-XS features a built-in 260mm aluminum telescopic rod that expands the gimbal’s height.
The Zhiyun SMOOTH-XS connects via Bluetooth to your phone and can control your phone’s camera via the ZY Cami App. This App is compatible with iOS and Android smartphones.
The App allows you to do quite a lot of things, including:
The Zhiyun SMOOTH-XS will be available in two different colors: ivory white and pearly pink for $74.99/ €64.95.
