During IBC 2024, Saramonic launched WiTalk9, a 9-person intercom system aimed at medium-sized teams. The system incorporates various current technologies to create the clearest internal transmission. These include Saramonic’s ClearTalk 360Β° noise cancellation, dual antenna, and DECT system with encryption that should provide teams with about 500m/1640 ft of stable, clear operational range, regardless of ambient noise and interference.
This new full-duplex intercom system from Saramonic enables up to 9 users to work with no hub, for quick and easy setup. The WiTalk9 can also be expanded to up to 30 users by using 4 cascading systems, in case a larger team is needed. Moreover, it can double as a virtual conference device as it can connect to various apps like Zoom, by wire or wirelessly. The system works in the 1.9GHz range, but a 2.4GHz edition will also be available, according to Saramonic.
The WiTalk9 system comes in various kits, with the most basic one consisting of 2 headsets – one master and one remote. Batteries and a charging case are included, and each battery is claimed to provide up to 15 hours of operating time for the remote sets and 10 hours for the master unit. Both types can be charged via a USB-C charging port. Moreover, pairing should be immediate, straight out of the box.
The Saramonic WiTalk9 intercom system is built for professional use. Headsets are IPX5 rated, so should withstand the occasional rain. Operational temperatures range from -10Β° to 50Β° Celsius (50Β° to 122Β° F) (which surpasses most cameras’ operating temperature range, to be honest). Each set weighs 228gr/0.5 lb, battery and ear cushion included, so it shouldn’t stress the neck during prolonged sessions.
The Saramonic WiTalk9 full-duplex intercom system is now available to pre-order from B&H. Pricing varies from $349 for a 2-person kit and goes up to $1,349 for the 9-person bundle.

Will the WiTalk9 system cater to your team’s professional needs? Will this kind of system encourage you to start working with intercom? Let us know in the comments.

Omri Keren Lapidot started his way long ago, hauling massive SVHS cameras as a young local news assistant. Maybe it was the weight that pushed him towards photography, we'll never know. In recent years he became a content creator, teacher, visual literacy promoter, and above all - a father of (fantastic) four girls. Based in Amsterdam.
