After a year in public Beta, music licensing start-up Artlist.io have finally released the final open version of their platform. So, what exactly can we expect now from this service?
We originally reported about Art-List back in early 2016. Around that time, the music licensing platform market was truly exploding with various emerging solutions, such as the re-launch of Musicbed, and newcomers such as Soundstripe or Filmstro. What caught our attention at the time, however, was Art-List’s the no-fuss approach to their business model: a fixed yearly subscription price of $199, which includes unlimited downloads of any song in their catalogue, and for any video use – no questions asked. In addition, they run a decent deal with their contributing artists, who are based worldwide and are not held to any exclusivity agreements.
Art-List (now officially Artlist) have taken user feedback collected throughout the past year of public Beta, and have included a range of improvements to their platform. In addition to a healthy boost in their catalogue with over 650 new titles, Artlist now offers features such as the option to share collections with collaborators or clients, the addition of free preview downloads, and an overall faster, more streamlined experience.
