B & H Photo Video is planning an entire day of DSLR. Canon is using the new 5D Mark II 24p firmware update as a platform to get the word out. A bunch of places are having some kind of DSLR event on or around the release date for the new firmware. Moviola and Birns and Sawyer here in Los Angeles are hosting events the same day! At least Birns will be giving away a Canon 5D Mark II to a lucky attendee. Here is a clip from the B & H website.
“The introduction of High Definition DSLRs (HDDSLRs) is one of the most exciting evolutions of technology to happen in years. The ability to capture high definition motion-video with a digital SLR has transformed the world of still photography and has created a new opportunities that are being utilized by photographers and filmmakers alike. The B&H Event Space is pleased to present a full day workshop devoted to learning the basic fundamentals of the camera gear, audio equipment, and workflow of HDDSLR by featuring Canon, Sennheiser, and Apple along with special guests Canon Explorer of Light Bruce Dorn and Jem Schofield” Click Here For More Info.
